Unless I've missed a light shower it hasn't rained here in Leith for 6 weeks.
Just sayin'

Could desperately do with some over here. The forests are like tinder at the moment.

I'm a dry kind of weather guy. Sunny and warm preferably. Soon as I can leave again I'm off!
Although these days a trip to North Berwick sounds interesting. As someone who was always on the go, with at least 3 places I called home, my big choice now is what supermarket to go to. I've even started dressing up to go. Strange times. Anyway been lovely and dry since I got back.

One of the things we've been doing with our daughter is drawing on pavements in chalk. I'd have expected it all to have washed away but with no rain, it all seems to be hanging around for a decent length of time.

See loads of this on our walks both on pavements and in driveways, great to see children reverting to “old school”games outside.

Snap. The path in front of our block is covered in chalk drawings. It's quite nice watching all the children add to it and write nice messages. I'll be quite sad when it washes away.

Maybe I am being slightly naive here but is there a correlation between this dry weather and the lack of vehicles on the road and planes in the sky.

No.
Edit: Well actually there is a correlation. They both happened at a similar time and have since been pretty consistent with each other. There is no causation though.

April is likely to be the hottest on record. Low pollution, high uv levels. Not had a tan like it this early.
I washed and polished the car yesterday, that's how bored I was, so blame me for rain.

Are you sure? I can believe its broken records for lack of rain or sunshine hours, its been glorious, but it hasnt felt hot, certainly not here on the east coast. I remember Aprils in previous years that have felt hotter than this one.

We had a really dry spring last year as well, seasons have been going to pot for a while now.

I'm close to the geographical centre of Scotland, where you could balance the country on the point of a pin, and while there was a wind from the east it hardly took an edge of the heat. I mean, sunburn in April!!

I can’t remember being this burnt before in April, though that’s probably because I would normally be in work rather than the garden.

I gave the garden a good soaking today. We might get a bit of rain this week but not much.

Going to be raining tomorrow down here in the West Country.
Will need to take the garden cushions into the garage this evening.
To sound like an old man, the grass needs it.
(God I sound ancient).
