I'll start off with the Sky advert (Beach Boys tune?) "hello possible". Fud of an advert.

Obviously all Nationwide adverts.

Government warnings to protect the NHS. Way, way, way too many.

Home made videos (most are just utter rubbish).

I think the quality of TV generally is pretty poor, since the lockdown it's got even worse!

You'd think with 4,000 live channels, moooovies and box sets available I'd be able to find something!

The best thing is not to watch TV at all. The radio has really come into its own for me. World Service, Radio Scotland, all the digital stations.

Try it. You have to listen.

I agree, I think they have responded to this situation really badly. I'm a bit surprised, I would have thought they might try to react positively to the situation.

BBC Bitesize launches on Monday if you fancy learning something new. I’m going to do Spanish.

I mute adverts when they come on TV so I miss all the chat about what constitutes a good advert. When listening to podcasts on my phone though, the Mourinho Paddy Power one makes me want to go all Michael Douglas in Falling Down.

It's not special.

I second this, the radio used to be something I only ever listened to in the car or the kitchen when cooking. Now I spend hours in the house with no TV on just the radio.

Only ever listened to Radio Scotland for the football. But have started listening to Bryan Burnett each evening. Really good.

That is bizarre. Guaranteed to make any sensible person run a mile from funding circle although they seem to be doing well.

Every gambling ad except for the one where the guy is shamed for betting on Peruvian 3rd division matches or whatever.

As the OP mentioned the Nationwide ads with the unfunniest stand up ever.

I watched 2 hours of YouTube podcasts tonight. Better than any telly. Also Anna Massie daily updates on Instagram are classic.

Another radio/podcast fan here. Recently stumbled across the Radio Garden mobile app which tracks radio stations all over the globe. Try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I simply do watch any live TV excl. Sport and tend to stick to full seasons of stuff on Amazon / Netflix etc.

The last time I saw an advert on TV was the last time I watched the fitba’

As that seems a lifetime ago I’ve basically got no idea what you lot are on about [emoji2957]

Oh and just to add to that annoying Sky ad, "wouldn't it be nice to share things you normally can't?" What a Pizza? I think you will find you can "normally" share a pizza and its quite a common occurance.

There seems a desire, particularly on the BBC, to 'keep spirits up' by showing us how wacky the 'characters' amongst us are.

'This family recreated Les Miserables in their 12x15ft living room whilst standing on their heads'. Good for them, I ate 4 Crunchies and watched an entire season of Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares on auto pilot. Do I get a segment on the news?

Also people who have discovered TikTok and think they are hilarious. I have been sent or seen about 250 links to TikTok and I don't even need one hand to count how many have been remotely funny. Being middle aged, lip syncing and unable to dance doesn't replace actually being funny.

I'm loving the lack of adverts when watching the final season of Homeland. When the advert break comes around there's nothing to fill the space with so it just goes straight back to the programme. Bit annoying if you were planning make a cup to tea/grab a drink during the break, but if you watch it on catch-up it's great not to have to watch the ads.

The advert for shelter wanting £10 because a nurse is being kicked out her house cause she can't pay the rent. So wrong in so many ways.

It’s not even that she can’t pay her rent... it is because her landlord wants rid in case she catches Coronavirus. Very likely!

I listen to his show when I'm doing the washing up! The thing is we've all heard the songs a thousand times and nowadays they're all accessible in seconds if you want but still it's a good choice of material. You look forward to what's coming next!

Either that or I'm losing my marbles completely.

I'm struggling with Series 3, having enjoyed the first 2. From a German perspective, how is the acting?

Working through Rebellion on Netflix (about the Easter Rising (featuring our own James Connelly) and the War of Irish Independence).

Got series 3 of Babylon Berlin to watch and of course the latest episode of Westworld.

Other than the news I very rarely watch German TV anymore so can't really make a call from the German perspective. Traditionally German acting has been poor, mainly due to the drama schools not having adapted to TV and film because the theatre side of the training was extremely dominant. Things would appear to have progressed as I can see little difference in acting quality in some recent German productions from those produced in other nations.

If anything series 3 is more interesting from an international view point because the background storyline has moved into a historical era that is better known outside of Germany that will make it easier for international viewers to understand the backdrop.

I've not watched the dubbed versions so can't comment on that either.

Cheers.

The reason I am asking is that the acting has distracted me from the plot in this series, in a way that it didn't in the first 2. That happens for me sometimes in foreign-language dramas, and it= could be just down to cultural differences.

I'll persevere, though.

I’m only just getting into Series 3.

The history in it is quite good and prompts further reading.

Having enjoyed Good Omens, I’m currently revisiting Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere.
