OK, another 1 to keep you busy following on from Billy's excellent quiz,
At London Hibs we've been blessed to have a wonderful array of great ex Hibs players visit us as guests in our Burns' Nights. We've had representatives from the Famous 5, The Tornadoes, 11 Internationalists, Hibs Hall Of Famers, European Trophy Winners & Paul Kane! :greengrin Sorry Kano. A full list is below, shown by their usual position but you can place them anywhere. All you have to do is pick your best 11 plus 5 subs. You should also name a captain & a formation. The latter may be important as we have amazing attacking talent to choose from. We also have 3 ex managers & 2 ex assistant managers listed so please pick a manager also. (Your manager pick can also be in your team).
Please submit your team by 5pm Monday & we'll announce 2 winners on Tuesday. There will be a London Hibs (xl) T shirt for both which will be sent on just whenever possible. Only 1 entry each please.

Funny enough I've only got a vague memory of him being at one of our nights. Drink had been taken. He was a stylish midfield player who came through the system IIRC in late 60s. He never really made it at ER, think he went to Morton.

I found my Hibs Xmas card from 1970/71 season with John Murphy in the pic, right in the middle!. Apart from many future Tornadoes the pic features other great players such as Joe McBride Sen, Eric Stevenson, Chris Shevlane, Johnny Graham, Willie Hunter & Bobby Duncan. All wearing the iconic "Arsenal" strip. A more IT literate netter will post pic in next day or so!

OK, thanks for your entries. Although the choice was tough 6 players, McArthur, Brownlie, Blackley, Stanton, Reilly & Baker appeared in every selection along with the manager, Turnbull.
We also thought Turnbull the Famous 5 player & Hall of Famer Alex Cropley had to be included. To accommodate all these great players we opted for a 3-5-2, or possibly a 3-4-1-2 formation, or even 3-2-2-1-2. We put another Hall of Famer, Jackie Mac in at the back which left us with 2 very tough decisions to make. Who should play in the back 3 alongside Sloop & Jackie & who should play the #10 role. The latter came down to a choice between 2 Hibs supporters, born 2 months apart, both Hall of Famers & both known as Corky in their youth. In the end our team was;

McNamara, Rae, Blackley (Absolutely no prisoners taken there!)
Brownlie, Turnbull, Stanton (capt), Cropley (JB & AC as wideish almost wingback players)

To put it in perspective, rather than 5 subs here's a 2nd team from our original pool. Same Formation

Tomsk & CWG both chose the same team & formation which had only 1 difference from ours, Gordon H rather than Gordon G. We chose the latter for his versatility. If you PM me guys I'll find a way of getting t shirts to you.
