I wasn’t getting a cash refund but I’ve been contacted to confirm that as per my request, they have made the club shop staff aware of the monetary value to be used in the club shop via my client reference number when the shop reopens so it’s progress at least.

Hi, have you tried contacting the club?
I hope the club get this sorted soon, as money will be tight for a lot of people at the moment.

Just had an e-mail from the Finance Manager at Hibs looking for my bank details so hopefully things will start to move for the rest of you (suspect my bank details required as I paid using the payment plan so Hibs won’t have a payment card to refund to)

According to the press release just on the Hibs website, ‘less than 15% of fans asked for a refund’.
So we can take that to be about 14% then...
I make absolutely no judgement on people at this horrible time, but that is quite a bit higher than I expected, probably equivalent to £300 to £400 thousand.
A lot of money to pay back out.

Oft. That definitely is more than I was expecting to ask for a refund. But, as you say no judgement will be made on anyone who asked for one.

That is a high percentage of returns compared to other clubs.
It is a difficult time but so understand peoples need to get money back.

If we have 10000 season ticket holder paying an average of £300 (back of a fag packet calculation allowing for some cheaper kids/OAP tickets), it could very well be up there.

Potential refunds were based on the cost of the 2/3 remaining home games. Total refunds will be under £100k in my opinion.

It’s only a refund of 4 games so you’ll be looking at the figure being around £150000 - £180000

Think we have 12-13 thousand season ticket holders. Work on the worst case scenario;
15% of 13,000 is 1,950.
On the basis of them all being adult tickets the refund amount would be £80ish (based on the dearest season tickets).
That gives a total of £156k. Factor in that there will be a number of concession tickets in there and some of the adult tickets would be a bit cheaper then the total being refunded would be quite a bit less. Though not insignificant.

TBH, that's quite disappointing.... However, it's not going to be as high as £300k
If you take the absolute highest amount to reclaim (full adult price), it would be about £80.
We had 13,000 ST holders, so the highest possible number asking for a refund would is 1,900 (slightly under 15%)
Multiply the two and the total money to be returned would be about £150k
However, not every refund will be a full adult price, so that's the absolute worse case scenario. When you take into account that a lot of the returns will be for youths and Seniors, plus it will be less than 1,900, it will actually be a lot lower than £150k
(Edit: I'm too slow, somebody already did the same calculation :greengrin)

Still, it's probably over £100k that they didn't budget for having to pay out just a few months ago plus we're probably approaching being around £1 million down in season ticket sales, compared with this time last year.
Not great.
Disappointed that the figure is as high as 15%. When you consider other clubs such as Partick were 4-5%. I understand there are exceptions where people are struggling and every penny counts but I have my suspicions there are a fair few who requested refunds who don't fall into that category.

I don't think it's disappointing at all.
Regardless of their circumstances, the people who have claimed a refund were entitled to do so.
The club told fans that if you didn't claim a refund, they would make it worth your while. Obviously those who have gone ahead and applied for a refund have weighed everything up and decided that was the best course of action for them.

It may say more about the relative demographics of the fans of both clubs than anything else. Allied to that, the cost of a ST at PT will be significantly lower than ours.

Whether it was to put food on the table, spend in the club shop or put towards another ST doesn’t really matter. If it’s going to affect the club that much ask the high earning players to take a cut to compensate.

Spot on, and it's only right that the club has asked players to share some of the burden now too.
As I've said elsewhere, I recently described the situation to a non-football person as a scenario whereby folk who may be taking a salary hit through furlough or are needing to take payment holidays on other commitments may be entering credit agreements to buy season tickets for a next season that nobody knows exactly when will start or from when / whether fans can attend matches. In foregoing refunds they're ensuring the salaries of well paid footballers, many of whom may earn more in a week than those fans earn in a month, continue to be paid (even if on a deferred basis).
That to me seemed like a ridiculous state of affairs.

This. The economy is in the toilet, folk losing jobs left and right. Football isn't a priority right now. People need to look after themselves and their families.

Might just be me being cynical, but was the timing of the announcement of proposed players’ wage cuts and the club requesting refund bank details from supporters just a coincidence? I can envisage some fans being torn as to whether to take up the refund if players are also losing (rather than having deferred) any money...

I doubt it.
The average member of the Hibs first team squad is reportedly on over £100k a year.
I doubt the average salary of those who have claimed a refund will be on anything like that. I can't see yesterday's announcement clouding their thinking.

Totally the opposite to me, it was well overdue that the the players were asked to take wage cuts considering the emphasis the club put on asking people not to request refunds if possible. That statement didn’t sit right with me when the highly paid players were sitting on a full wage unlike many fans.
