Any one else really into their bbq?

I love nothing more than cooking a big slab of meat low and slow, given the current situation I’ve got plenty time on my hands to do this.

First post off the main forum as well.

Love a BBQ. :aok:

Less so the traditional sausages and burgers as I tend to overdo them though.

Fish, chicken, and halloumi. Kebabs of peppers/onion/corn too.

Planning to have one next week if the weather holds.

BBQs are my favourite way of cooking.

If you’re on Facebook search for “over the fire cooking” a some amazing stuff on that page.

I’m just getting in to cooking dirty, straight in the coals. Gives a totally different flavour to stuff, steaks are great this way.

Been doing this for a few years now, "caveman steaks".
I like to get an Argentinian cube-roll (basically a rib eye but 8 inches long), use lumpwood charcoal, get it white hot then fan away any ash, season the steak and place directly on the coals.
Slice the steak and fill yer belly!

Sounds amazing, I usually have weber premium lump wood but find that i never get that long a cook with it if I’m trying to cook a few things.

Love the BBQ, but think my gas one is at the end of its life - fired it up last week on a good weather day and it was making a noise like a 747 taking off.

Suspect its too much air in the mix, so either the regulator or the input manifold rusted up. Took it to bits and couldnt find anything untoward, and although it cooks there is no control.

Crap timing as I was looking to source a smaller porcelain grill.
