Sir Kier wins with Angela Rayner as deputy.

Excellent result. We can have a functional opposition again and get Labour talent back into the shadow cabinet.

Voted for Ian Murray for deputy myself but I’m happy with that.

Looking out for NEC result if the momentum pair were kept off then that will be an all round success

Hear, hear.

There cannot have been a less propitious moment in the history of the party for the leader to take charge. The challenge is massive, starting with just regaining some electoral credibility, although the dreary, drawn-out leadership election itself demonstrates just how dysfunctional and out of touch the party has become.

It's a long road yet.

The same Ian Murray who barely mentioned labour once 4 months ago when looking for re-election...?

Interesting to see what Sir Keir's plans are for Scotland and to try and get voters back? Acknowledge potential independence/devo max or just follow on and ignore it and pretend its not there?

Have to say that this is the first time in many, many years that I’ve felt positive about a political event.

The last 10 years have been utter *****!

I voted Nandy and Rayner, but I liked what all three candidates were saying during the campaign and Keir will get my full support.

I won't be voting for them but I like him, he's the most sensible out of the people nominated and will likely appeal to the broader public more than the others also

I like Jess Phillips and thought she would make the Tory front bench look so out of touch, but it wasn’t to be.

So I voted for Starmer and Murray. I can live with Rayner as deputy, she has some of the same qualities as Phillips in being very much the antithesis of privilege.

And it is nice to see someone called Keir at the head of the movement again, though the original was not without his flaws :greengrin

Not had a chance to check out the NEC results yet, but will be interested to see if we have tacked to a more moderate place. And by moderate I mean actually bloody electable.
