Local govt is publically shaming heavy drinkers. Unacceptable.

Store it until collections resume or put it in your grey bin according to the council.

Under the floorboards. That's where I found 100s of empty wine bottles in one house I moved into!

That news had passed me by until this thread - thanks for posting! I would have been that dafty in the street with his box of empty bottles out all day otherwise. :greengrin

Are the bottle banks at supermarkets still there? (Havent been in a couple of weeks so possibly removed/full already)

Still there but the council have asked you not to use them either as they don't have the resources to empty them.

We've had recycling centres shut in East Lothian, but thankfully rubbish and recycling collections have been maintained as normal given my booze consumption has increased over last week or so.

Every time you empty a bottle of wine you have a quirky, elegant, aren’t-we-cool-and-fun candle holder.

Upcycling.
