Anyone use any craft beer and lager clubs? I'm not a big drinker but I enjoy a good beer or lager. When out I'd pay more for high end stuff.

Been thinking about signing up to one that sends you a box of mixed ones around maybe 12 a month or such like. That would cover what I drink then some and give me something to enjoy.

I enjoy lagers and light beers more than heavy or dark stuff.

Any recommendations?

I signed up for beer52 who send you boxes from different countries. One of them was an Estonian box which was good. Some of them are hit and miss, a lot of really strong flavours. Some of them instantly went in the slow cooker stews but I’d usually have 10/12.

Quite expensive though, £30 a month odd.

I've been tempted by this too recently (circumstances certainly make it tempting!).

I've got a coffee subscription (a rolling birthday present) and I often get voucher offers for Beer52 sent through as part of it. An introductory offer of a free box with you just paying for delivery. I've got enough beer in the house currently to open a small bar, so if you'd like me to send you a code next time I get one (though they might be floating about online somewhere?) I'd be happy to do it.

There's a list for some comparison purposes. Flavourly are the other lot I keep getting vouchers for!

And you can choose whether you want a pack of light beers or a mix of light and dark. As you say, hit or miss sometimes and pricey. I've changed mine from bi-monthly to quarterly. You do get some cracking beers though.

Books and beer. You get a choice of non fiction or crime fiction, a book and 2 cans of beer from craft brewery each month, include tasting notes and a link to a playlist. £10 a month plus postage. 👍

I’ve stopped it altogether after the last box was mostly gantin. A lot of money for half the beers to get poured away. “Challenge cans” I call them.

Not the subscription model, but can thoroughly recommend putting together an order at:

As you say, it’s an expensive business when half of them are rank, but whenever I get a gift set with some challenging darker ones I tend to stick them in stews, leading to some outstanding steak pies.

[emoji106]Thats a great idea. Unfortunately I'd go through that in a night as I read probably 2 books a week usually. It's still a cracking idea and I'll look into it
