Ach .... For years Hearts have, if not stated it specifically, then implied that they are 'Edinburgh's team' there is nothing they would like more than for that to be a fact, but for as long as there's a Hibernian Football Club it's never going to happen, they know it and deep down that boils their pish :greengrin

Hibs have never been of that mindset and this is the first time I can ever remember us claiming this is our city or anything like that in official club stuff .... It's practically a given in any two club city that stuff like this goes on, Everton's claim to be 'the peoples club' being a classic example. At the end of the day its all pretty meaningless, especially in Edinburgh where support for both clubs is in actual fact reasonably level.

I've said it many times on here. For us all this stuff is a bit of fun, for Hearts all their 'Edinburgh's maroon' ***** is something they actually think is true, or at the very least want to be true, which means that Hibs very presence is an annoyance to them and in large part could account for their way out of proportion hatred for us. It gives me a warm fuzzy glow to know that in order to get on the Jambos thrupenny bits all we have to do is exist.
