Is there a psychological problem when it comes to beating Hearts?

Yes, we have had some good victories against them but I cannot remember any games were the result really mattered. The 06 semi and the 2012 cup final we were awful and in games were we could have relegated them, we`ve stuffed it up.

How can we not be up for the fight, soft as dog-doo

Said the same in the other thread and got called out as a Hearts fan.

It’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s true. In my lifetime - 2016, 2017 in the Scottish Cup. 2007 in the league cup.

I am quite negative when it comes to Hibs. I’ll hold my hands up, but when the draw for the semi was made I instantly had a feeling of they will beat us. Nothing to do with form etc. It’s just what I’m used to seeing.

Hibs really don’t make life easy for us.

This game didn’t matter anymore or any less than the Boxing Day derby, it wasn’t to relegate them, it was a run of the mill league derby, and we have won plenty of them. Lost more than our fair share, but to say we haven’t ever won a derby ‘when it mattered’ is amusing to say the least.

The above and the game at ER 2012 when we knocked them out the Scottish. Shortest reign of a club since 1893 .

Point taken. But the point I was trying to make was that the game en route to the 2016 final wasn`t a semi nor a final, games in which they always seem to step up and we freeze

So is it only semis and finals we’re including? Is a quarter final good enough or does it not fit the point being made?

The win at Tiny under Heckingbottom mattered as it took us above them and in to the top 6 did it not?

Edit. Should add, every derby matters.

Tonight was not a semi or a final so it does not matter
