Immense tonight. He was an absolute rock at the back and didn’t give County’s front two of Erwin & McKay a sniff.

I’m glad we didn’t let him leave for Bolton in January. Certainly one to keep going forward.

Big mans been excellent since he came in no coincidence we lost when he went off at ibrox when we looked solid defensible soaking up pressure

Superb. McGinn and Hanlon next to him were very assured also. Hopefully he can keep fit, he'll surely be the first pick defensively right now.

Initial signs were he was 'no nonsense' - tell you what, he's good with the ball at his feet and a very good passer of the ball under pressure. :aok:

Very intelligent player when he's played.

I always thought he looked good pre season and first couple of games, was surprised he never got more of a chance.

Looking very good now

Looks a better footballer than I first gave him credit for as well.

Beckenbauresque the way he would stroll out of his box with the ball launching attack after attack taking the ball for a walk only to be let down by an overhit pass or a poor pass from a team mate

Took his goal well and got McNulty off the hook

MOTM for me.

I was torn between Jackson, Hanlon and Docherty for MOTM but Adam's goal topped a very good performance and I would have given him the award. Looks a very good signing and we look far better with him and Hanlon than we did with Porteous and Hanlon. McGinn has made a big difference too.

Come on to a game since the break (with the exception of Dundee Utd) which is a bonus.

Thought he was our best player at Ibrox last week.

On another thread I said Hanlon or Newell could have been MOTM but should have also included Jackson . Anyway he looked impressive earlier in the season too when results weren`t going our way . Since the start of the season there have been numerous posts here about " disastrous summer window signings " and similar and no doubt in a few years there`ll still be posts mentioning Hecky`s signing disasters just as there are about Calderwood`s or Fenlon`s ( as though other managers only signed gems ) but in fact most of summer signings are starting to look good ( not fantastic yet but good ) for bottom 10 ie non OF of our league .

:agree: great team performance tonight, kept it going for 90 minutes and every player gets high pass marks but Jackson was the stand-out for me.

I mean, it's getting hard to disagree with this, just didn't know what to do with them.

He was excellent tonight, motm for me as he also was at ibrox (from the hibs team). Looks like he will chip in with goals from set pieces too.

Been clear for months to me that he’s our best defender. Next season I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Porteous as a pairing

Yes, a fine performance from Jackson. Alert, calm and assured - the defence looks far more solid with him at the heart of it.

Give him the number 5 shirt next season and we'll have our own Jackson 5.

Personally think Porteous could learn a thing or two from Adan Jackson’s game.

Tremendous this evening. Fair play to the lad, he’s got the hunger to make it here and doesn’t hide. He’s been constantly our best defender when he’s played since December in all honesty.

Great that he’s emerged. With McGinn slotting in the major repair on our ageibg back four isn’t looking quite so major.

Hanlon looks so much more comfortable in back 3. His best form Under both Stubbs and Lennon was when we played left in a back 3. A back 3 of Porteous, Jackson, Hanlon could be good once all fit.

Far too many people write players off after 1 or 2 mistakes. Its really odd behaviour. Defenders will make loads of mistakes during a season - all footballers do. But the players we currently have are as good as any outside of the old firm. Get behind them - give them time to gel - and we will see the benefits.

I was a bit harsh on Jackson earlier in the season and he took a while to win me over, but credit where it is due. He was excellent last night and I hope he goes from strength to strength. Really encouraging to see both him and Hanlon chipping in with goals, and a lot of that is down to Newell's excellent corners.

Glimpses of Efe Ambrose in him tonight.

Definitely was - particularly in the first half when he dribbled the ball into their half and then somehow managed to punt it right out of play missing everyone :greengrin

9 clean sheets for Hibs this season, and Jackson has played in 7 of them.
Made 17 appearances and been on the losing side only 3 times.

Good stats.

And it was only 1-1 v Rangers when he was subbed so arguably only twice on the losing side.

His contract's up summer 2022, need to get that extended. Only 25, young for a CB. A real asset.

Was impressed with his ability to drive forward with the ball from defence, a couple of times against county where he picked the ball up on the edge of the box and carried it 40-45 yards up the pitch, terrific in the air also and doesn't complicate things when he has the ball, does the simple thing when needed. Another player that has finally found his way.

I feel his time with Hibs is pivotal to his whole career. He's in his mid 20s now (25 I believe) and so far he's not made any significant impression where he has played previously. Less than 30 games on loan with Conference side Hartlepool and less than 40 league games in 3 seasons at Barnsley and thats about it.

Your time has come Adam. Grab the opportunity.
