The value of sheep has plummeted since the turn of the year. One farmer from Aberdeen, Farmer McInnes, has seen a nil return at five of six markets so far with just one single sheep hitting the mark at the lowly Dumbarton market in January. Confidence in Farmer McInnes’s on-the-field ability is at an all-time low and cries of “ewes are useless” are now common place from visitors to his Pittodrie farm.

Well, I'll be blowed.

I didn't think I'd read anything more pointless than my debate with BHFC about whatever it's now about, but by Jove, you've cracked it! :greengrin

poor Mr McInnes has his sheep in the pend, but i'd wager it goes all sad in the end. the new yankee owner wont wait for the lambing, he'll be screeming for action on that you can depend.

Never really got the Aberdeen/farmers/sheep ****gers thing. We’re more sheep farming territory down here in the south.

Thats actually a bit misleading. The quality of the land in the north can only support certain numbers of sheep, so the rates of sheep to the hectare will be lower, but more hectares will be given over to sheep.

So sheep ****gers is most definitely appropriate.

Given East Anglia is the largest agricultural producer in the UK I don't think that's true. :greengrin

Those Suffolk boys seem to be rather proud of that nickname, for whatever reason.
