Must be.. can’t see anything coming close to Barcelona v Hibs 1960 and the asking price of £1749.99 which is currently on eBay.

Used to have the Barcelona and Real Madrid programmes. Third Lanark, 1973 N’erday Derby and many more. I planned to pass them on to my son. My ex wife threw them all out in a fit of spite almost thirty five years ago and shortly before we went our separate ways. Can’t for the life of me understand why I still hold that against her 🤔

I gave quite a few of those away to a mate 20 years ago. Gutted now. My favourite was Hibs v British Army. One if not two Charlton Brothers playing for the army I think

Our family passes the programme collection down through the generations, but amongst the huge number we have is Gordon Smith's testimonial against Man United in 1952. Not for sale, but maybe worth a few bob?

Asking price means nowt . It’s what it sells for that counts .
pretty sure our first (Britain’s first ) foray in Europe programmes are very rare and very expensive to buy .
Ive got the Hibs v Barca program from the home leg and a few other home European ones . But unfortunately none of the above mentioned.

First European Cup ties 1955 versus rot weiss essen and djuurgarden home ties turn up on ebay quite often.

And you can pick them up for less than £100.

I have them both and paid £65 and £75 for top condition.

My late Jambo Uncle was on holiday in Yugoslavia in 1973

He just happened to find himself outside the Stadium in Split the same day as the European Cup Winners Cup Quarterfinal Second Leg Hadjuk Split v Hibernian and very kindly bought me a Programme

A very nice man

I’ll keep a look out for they ones myself but it’s the away ones that go for the most money.

I’m not surprised given that asking price on eBay, it will be interesting to see what it eventually goes for. If it’s in the £100’s and your brother fancies selling locally then PM me. :)

I paid less than a tenner for my Hibs v Barca programme about a year ago. Often crazy prices asked on ebay but you pick up for a lot less the huge majority of time.

Cup final run ict away replay often asked really silly money.

It’s Barca v Hibs at Barca though.
The programmes at ER (Fairs cup and Friendly) are commonplace with the exception of the postponed issue.
The ICT replay is very hard to find.

£250- £300 ?? It has turned up on eBay on very few occasions over the years, I’ve never seen it that cheap !! Getting it at that price would be the bargain of the century 😀

Are you not talking about the home postponed issue? A very tatty copy was sold in March last year.

I’ve not seen the away issue sold since 2014.

Unless the away was a Buy it now and was snapped up quickly . If so the buyer got himself a real bargain

The Inverness replay was available for months from their suppliers website. Got 2 at the time, wish I'd got more now. That's the place to go if you miss one. RRP too.

I missed out on a program last year from the match played the night I was born through not being able to afford it at the time.
If I had the £100 I would have bought it.
Anyone have a spare Hibs v Valencia Fairs Cup first leg from 1965 going?

Not into collecting football programmes, but have collected old Speedway programmes since 1963, and now have just under 7,000 from 1928 to date.

Over the period, I have managed to get the programmes for the first ever meetings held in Britain (High Beech 19th February 1928) & Scotland (Glasgow Nelson Athletic Grounds 9th April 1928).

One I'm still looking for is the first ever meeting held in Edinburgh at Marine Gardens, Portobello on 19th May 1928, for which I would pay between £800 - £900 for one in decent condition.

I'm have list of my other wants (which are less valuable between £20 - £100, depending on age/scarcity) so if anyone can help, pm me.

I have a spare autographed programme of The 1953 Press Sports Gala at Old Meadowbank on 23rd July, which features Hibs in the 5 a Sides, for swap also.

There's one on eBay now, £0.99 starting bid, with a day to go and no bids

Barca v Hibs (away) must be one of the rarest/most expensive. Old, rare, appeals to both Barca and Hibs collectors etc. Liverpool v Hibs worth anything?

Still have the Hibs Barca programme from 1960. Surprised it's on sale at such a price although it is an iconic Hibs programme but I'll be keeping mine.

I started going to Old Meadowbank in the early 1960s with my parents.

Sold a lot of my stuff on ebay, badges, my Grandads season tickets from the early fifties.

Handed my photo album into the programme shop for Brian to use a a gift. Use to buy the photos from the stall at the track.

I miss Old Meadowbank still after all these years, Coatbridge, Powderhall and Armadale ok but couldn't hold a candle to OM.

George Hunter was my favourite rider, followed by Reider Eide, Bengt Jansson and Oyvind S. Berg amongst others.

Sorry mods move this post into Collectors Corner at your discretion as a collector rant is below:

LOL Ebay.

If I was parting actual cash-money for this I would want to meet the dude at least twice not only to inspect the goods but to have a second opinion viz., authenticity and assess the persons character.

As a cool-cetor [collector] of all things Hibs, I got a bit excited :hyper; however, upon further investigation/discussion online it reads like someone valuing their BBC "Tat in the Attic" starring Alistair Appleton [no flex - he is a cracking guy] for more than what the market is willing to pay. [max - £100]

We must always be wary of technological advancement [in the cool-lecting hobby] and be aware of how easy it may/may not be to print "legit" copies of:

"LOOK HERE RARE PROGRAM FROM 1934 ST BERNARDS - LOW PRICE - BIT £1000"

Always watermark** any high-res upload of programs [sic] or photos no matter how innocuous the request may be to the following sites to prevent this:

**free watermark for pictures**

https://www.watermarquee.com/ [free for images up to 1GB]
https://watermarkly.com/#app [free - does larger files but takes longer than the 21 bus from D-Mains to RIE!!]
