I was happy enough with Allan's contribution. The midfield options look pretty good, imo.

No doubt the defence needs attention, but hopefully that'll be resolved when our crocks return.

SDG needs to get fitter soon or he'll find himself sidelined and McGregor is going to be back up when the others return.

Hanlon had a great game, and McGinn will replace Gray; indeed, he may already have done so. Why there is still no competition for Stevenson at left back is a mystery; he is a legend and continues to give 100% but we need to try for better.

So what's the verdict after todays game - is Jack a hero or a zero?

A zero today imo.

He picked the wrong team with the wrong tactics from the start. Some good play from Boyle and Allan for the first then decent scrapping and a good contribution from Omeonga and Doidge got us our second. We were never on top until that point and were extremely lucky to go in level.

I thought he got his changes wrong in the second half as well - too many too soon, the wrong changes in personnel and the wrong tactics after the changes were made.

Ross has done a lot more right than wrong so far so I'm not going to complain too much or get on his back this early.

What concerns me about Ross right now is that he's now had a transfer window to mould his squad - and first game after the window closes he plays plays the same tactics, got the same sort of performance and got the same sort of result that got his unpopular predecessor the sack.

I was really impressed by Docherty and McGinn, they both look like first picks.

McNulty didn't do much but from what I could see what he did do was to give the ball away and get in other players' way.

I've not seen anything today to change my mind about the transfer window - we are weak in defence, we've added a few midfielders without really adding much variety and I think we're weaker up front.

That to me looks like a squad that will probably finish 7th - 9th.

It wasn't horrendous but it was a draw at home to St Mirren in a game that we couldn't have had many arguments about had we lost.
