Is it just me or is this programme by Mr Bollocks, sorry Balls, just enforcing the fact that this man is nothing short of a fascist himself?

He grins, laughs, sings and seems fair chuffed at watching and hearing others hatred towards immigrants.

It's nothing short of a dressed up programme for fascist ideology and presented by one too.

How can anyone take this guy seriously and why did BBC decide to screen it? He repeatedly questions fascism and tries to play the concerned presenter. Don't even go there Balls. This is nothing more than a fascists holiday. And the tax payer is paying to watch it.

You dick head. You don't fool me son.

I haven't watched this yet, but Ed Balls is not a facist, that's absolute nonsense.

Edit: watched a couple of episodes. I think it's really interesting.

He's trying to shed light on the breeding grounds for populism and the techniques used to exploit them. Perfectly fair way to spend taxpayers' money. Much rather have this than the BBC's political editor churning out press releases from the Tory Party.

Its as clear as Farage getting roasted up the High Street

No, but I sincerely hope you are. This kind of haphazard labelling of someone as a facist is deeply wrong and incredibly damaging. Complete and utter ****.

To be fair, I think he's trying to do the Louis Theroux schtick, chum up to the subject while hoping they open up and the viewers get to see them warts'n'all.

However, I do get the sense that when he injects bits of his own editorial it's very much of the "these people have real concerns that need appeased" rather than "these people are racists who need educated". Which suggests he's managed to learn **** all from the last 10 years.

Telling people that they have missed the point rather than considering that you may not have fully explained the argument is a classic Farage technique.

Does he say "appeased" or "addressed"?

If it's the former, I'd definitely disagree.

If it's the latter, I'd definitely agree.

Dismissing extremely ignorant views as extremely ignorant has won us Brexit and Trump.

Wouldn't the polar opposite position be putting a light on and raising a flag to the EU despite being outside it?

Extreme ignorance to the UK populace who voted for Brexit.

Being an Edinburgh Hibs fan doesn't mean being an oddball leftist.

I watched it last night, followed by Newsnught. When you take a step back it's stunning how blunted we have become to the far right.

Without that all important polarisation of views how are advertisers supposed to make money? Before the internet they were treated as the swivel eyed, ignorant knee-jerk, racist gits that they are, but opinions man, you have to listen to them.

I think it's gone beyond opinions when they are deporting British people to Jamaica - hard times.

I thought so too. Just watched it and it makes a reasonable effort to explain why some non fascists might be attracted to the hard right populists.

Balls is an extremely bright guy who could also effortlessly start a fight in an empty room. By no stretch of the imagination however is he in any respect whatsoever a fascist or a fascist sympathiser.

Other parties/politicians have their dimmer moments too. Back in 2014 Sturgeon threatened the status of the 160,000 EU nationals living here in Scotland if a post indyref independent Scotland wasn't automatically given EU membership
