I’ve heard from a pretty reliable source that this evenings news about Naismith and Porto will signal a 6 month deal for efe Ambrose

Good news but it shouldn't take 2 major injuries to sign a significant upgrade to all our other options.

Very naturally fit player and gray hasn’t played much in last year either efe more reliable to stay fit than he is, he’s practically made of glass

He's not exactly a model pro. I'd be surprised if Ross wanted him. Lennon let him away with a lot

Neither has Gray really or Whittaker or McGregor, Stevenson doesn’t look fit either or Hanlon. I can live with a half fit Efe.

You don’t half talk some nonsense. At least try and have a wee bit of sensible debate. Stevenson and Hanlon are two of the fittest players we have man. Get a grip.

Highly doubt that the results of a scan taken today would have mobilised a 6 month deal for Efe in the space of a few hours, never mind the news circulating to your "source"

According to Tam he will be more involved with the first team and Ambrose will offer cover for both positions

It takes Efe about 6 weeks to get up to speed at the start of the season after 2 months off. What state is he going to be in after 13 months off:confused:

Graeme Mathie should lay down the law at the outset with a list of crimes and fines and we could recoup a decent chunk of his salary.

IIRC when he came in before he got up to speed pretty quickly.

In what way? He has always kept himself in great shape, and never missed a single league game for us due to injury.

He was regularly late for training and sure he went AWOL and reported back for the new season a week or two late. I think he's a fantastic player but get the feeling without Lennon there to put an arm round him he'd be lost.

He did not report back 2 weeks late, that is rubbish. He was a few days late.

Scott Allan hadn’t played much in a year Billy . Reports saying Effe has kept himself fit training with one of his previous clubs in Nigeria .
Would be a tremendous signing imo .

Scott Allan was training every day though and I imagine played in closed door games/development games for Celtic. Love Efe to bits but I can't see how he is going to be match fit.....

Stevenson didn’t have a full pre season and has looked out of sorts since. Disagree all you want but he’s a weak link this season.

Whatever it was he reported back late after being AWOL

And he fully explained it and the management accepted it. He then went on to play all 38 league games as we finished 4th.

Regularly late according to who? He did report back late, due to family reasons iirc, but reported back in great condition.

I find Hibs fans really odd sometimes.

Efe Ambrose was a quality player for us. Had the odd moment of course but he was a joy to watch for the most part. Yet we have some people seemingly looking for every possible reason not to sign him, all whilst ignoring the one huge reason why we should sign him. Namely he would be the best defender at the club if we did. Same happened with McGeouch a couple of weeks ago. We sometimes seem happier trying to engage in revisionism about bad players than crediting the good players we have had.

As an additional option Ambrose would be a brilliant signing. We have hardly been a blueprint for a defensive masterclass this season. Now we have a couple of injuries to deal with as well.

Re-signing Efe is an absolute no brainer. A half fit Efe is still an asset to the team.

I remember the days we’d have a couple of young up and coming sitting waiting on a chance to show what they can do.

Surely there must be someone waiting on a crack at the first team?
