Picked the wrong opportunity twice, still think he's a good head coach. Wish him all the best.

Fantastic man and a club legend.

I think Stubbs' strengths are in coaching, I don't think being a figurehead suits him greatly. (Alan may disagree!) This should be a great role for him.

Don’t think they are ...Doolan was the main coach during his time at ER...he is more like our current assistant..motivating the players, keeping the dressing room upbeat...suspect he will be the link man between Moyes and the players ....

Good to see him back in work - and a less high profile role may suit him better as he bids to get his career back on track.

He did a wonderful job at Hibs IMHO and I'll always be grateful to him for that.

I know you’re just having a wee dig at Hyacinth Bucket across the city... but yes, maybe it does!

If Moyes stays at West Ham they might invest more in scouting up here and be looking for a good club to send players on loan.

Good luck Alan.

Not flexing [and certainly not ITK Dry Boak] but the wife and I met him a couple of times and he is a classy dude who loves Hibs and our wonderful city of Edinburgh.

Always a legend in our eyes.

Good luck to him, hibs legend and a genuinely nice bloke.

I think his days of managing may be over after the st mirren disaster but a coach at a prem team is a decent gig nonetheless

Wish him well.

Genuinely nice guy by all accounts, and he led us to the Holy Grail.

Hopefully he takes the opportunity if true so he can get back into the game. No doubt he will be back in management one day. Leaving us for a team like Rotherham will be the biggest regret he will ever make.

Good luck to Stubbsy. He'll need to keep himself ticking over 'til it's time to come back here a few years down the line and win us another cup.

2nd choice?
From Liverpool Echo

Moyes is thought to have wanted to bring in Stuart Pearce as part of his staff, but that move failed when the West Ham board blocked him from bringing in the ex-England defender over comments he has made about the Hammers in the press.
Stubbs is said to be set to make a decision in the coming days over the role, and could even be in the position by next weekend, when Moyes hosts the Blues in their next Premier League fixture.

They didn't want Pearce, good luck to Alan, not second choice.

Yeah, back in the game big time.
Will help clean his CV up.
Only fly in the ointment is that Moyes might get bucketed in the summer.

Oh great - now I’m going to be supporting TWO English premier league clubs that could go down!

Just to clarify for those about to go radge. That’s not a criticism of Stubbs, but an acknowledgement that I’ll be looking out for Hammer results as well as Villa’s now.

Wish him nothing but the best. He brought the feel good factor back to the club and we played a lot of good football under him. Some great signings and we won a cup as well.

All the best Stubbsy. :aok:

Bit of a rollercoaster under Stubbs but got to say it's probably the most enjoyable period I've had watching Hibs. Malongas incredible goal in Aberdeen win, getting soaked at Cowdenbeath, Ibrox victories, pumped at home to Morton, THAT incredible cup run and the league cup final defeat. Heartbreak, laughs and tears of joy along the way and kicked every ball with him. Mental era. Good luck Alan.
