Some players who have been with us a while have been getting a fair bit of criticism recently, some reasonable, some far from it.

Turned into a battle second half and it was Stevenson, McGregor and Hanlon that dragged us through it for much of it.

Well done guys, bunch of legends and still bloody good players.

Yes they all had a decent game. Thought Stevensons passing was a bit wayward but great show.

I feel like Hanlon & Stevenson are really far more comfortable with McGregor in their backline. Thought they were all superb today.

These are the players who due to playing together so many times have a great understanding and in games like today it shows, cannot beat experience like that today.

Also, the importance of the derby runs through the core of them.

Can’t fault the defending today. All of them were up for it. Battled like ****. Got the job done.

Marciano has been getting bad reviews lately too but I thought he was very good. I'd rather have him as number one.

Absolutely.

I don’t think Maxwell would’ve kept out that Meshinos shot in the first half

McGregor is tailor made for derbies at Tynecastle, having Doidge as well also makes such a difference in these games. Add those two to Boyle & Allan and we have the grit AND footballing ability blend we so often lack at Tynecastle.

Think Hanlon and Stevenson are better with McGregor in the team.

Have to admit when I seen Daz in the team for his first start in a fair bit I was slightly apprehensive, the big man never put a foot wrong all game, LEGEND!

Far too often this season it has been a back five against an opposition ten. McInnes expects Aberdeen to have ten attackers or ten defenders. Until we have ten defenders we will continue to invite opposition assaults onto our back five

Who put his head in for a defensive header in injury time? Could have had a sore one especially as they were putting the boot in.

I’ve said it before but I could watch Darren McGregor header a football on repeat all day. His technique is perfect.

It’s bordering on pornography how much he wins in the air.

Said before I think Ryan Porteous is our best centre back but Hanlon & McGregor are out best centre back pairing.

When they’re finished and gone, we’ll pine for Gray, McGregor, Hanlon and Stevenson.

Good players, experienced players and part of the fabric of the club.

They should be appreciated more, not just in the afterglow of derby victory.

I agree Smartie.

Whilst I think the vast majority of Hibs fans have genuinely expressed a great deal of love toward these players for the last 5 years, there's been some comments from a vocal minority recently that have been disrespectful and unwarranted.

These guys are potentially once in a generation type legends. They should be adored with the same respect until their playing careers come to an end.

Love those guys.

Yup, solid and stood up to the hammer throwers. These 3 bleed green and they'd run through a brick wall for Hibs

Naismith was also solid by the way.

Young Porteous could learn a lot from Darren McGregor. Controlled aggression in a fantastic performance. Im sure Darren will take him under his wing.

Shout out to the young team too though, excellent foresight from Porteous to get a red on Friday

Stevenson had an indifferent 1st half but was immense in the 2nd. Covered every inch and gave his all. Brilliant performance by Lewis.

I concur with many other posters.
The backline was superb today.
The fact that Lewis was getting deliberately targeted and fouled tells its own story.

Loved it !

McGregor at the end running up to the fans and dancing about.

The Porteous red card was a blessing in disguise to allow McGregor to play.

Back 4 all played brilliantly but honestly thought big daz was absolutely outstanding! My motm definitely, absolutely bossed it. Just when folk think he's finished too. Porteous doesn't get back in the team for me, big man was immense
