Apparently they're not too happy (https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/crime/fears-over-policing-boozed-fans-hibs-rangers-match-black-friday-edinburgh-1346932) about having to police a game the last Friday before Christmas.

Surely they have to give permission for the game to go ahead. so could have refused?

Does seem madness. Should hopefully make for a great atmosphere though.

It’s the police federation that are moaning about it, not the police themselves, who as you say, would’ve already agreed to cover it.

Not any madder than having a game on boxing Day tbh

Can confirm. Abbeyhill in particular was a nightmare. Stay Safe.

"It comes down to money. Each club will get £50,000 but it makes no sense at all"

Well that's one mistake anyway. No TV money paid "per game" for league matches. If only. You'd think they'd get their facts right before putting out a PR piece about having to do their jobs.

:flag:We'd blooter them under the carpet if it came to Leith v Govan. Never ever fear that lot. Never.

Whether it’s an evening kick off on last Friday before Christmas or a lunchtime Sunday kick off, the Rangers supporters are going to behave just the same. They would have done the country a favour if they just stayed out of business a few years back and never returned.
