Kickback saying Glen Whelan gone for having a go at Stendal. He wasn’t happy about the manager pissing off for Christmas.
Hope it’s not true, we need as many bang average players clogging up their wage bill as we can.

Because they wanted to overtake our capacity and failed, and they also failed in finishing it and also in ordering seats.
Basically, they tried to one up their neighbours and failed, expensively and spectacularly so.

They're hoping beyond hope that the guy can turn it around. He's shown a grand total of zip since his triumphant arrival, with 1 goal in 360 odd mins and 0 pts... but it's not his fault. As soon as he gets his own backroom boys in and brought in half a dozen players, you watch. They'll be charging up the league, and anyone who says different is a moron, a 'vermin', or both. All it needs is a sugar daddy to keep throwing good money after bad.

His decision to play a high line against Boyle and Allan was criminal. Not sure how he can’t be held responsible for it. If he had say a couple of days in Edinburgh to study hibs it could have been different but he was tearing into the mulled wine in Germany. I honestly don't think we can tell yet. He has alot of "not very good players" signed by the previous regime and they have a shocking attack [Mikey Stewart mentioned this today] which is wholly reliant on Naismith. If he is injured for any length of time they have big problems.

They will finish the season 8th or worse.
Will pick up from January but I'm not sure it will have anything to do with Stendl.
Their squad is a mix of bottom 6 players and the talented members are all broken including Naismth who appears to have glass hamstrings. Soutter also appears to have a big injury problem. An almighty and expensive mess to be sure.

There will always be less than 20,000 even at full capacity. This is because their capacity is less than 2,000.
Even with the 150-200 missing for segregation that takes you 19,500 tops.

Can't believe the easy ride he's getting from Hearts fans and the media given the fanfare and the build up from the Barnsley Galacticos fanbase and media down there - a team who incidentally have turned their form right around since his departure :greengrin
This is a guy who has had a very very favourable run of opening (managerial) fixtures - three at home, one against a team who hadn't won away in a year, one to a side who hadn't won in ages, both of whom were the foot of the table, and a home derby. He has already caused division in their dressing room, publicly called out the senior pros in a press conference, some already want away, he cannot communicate well from what I have seen and heard, and he allows the previous manager to speak with the players pre-derby and he goes home prior to the most bitterly contested fixture in the calendar.
Hasn't lasted a year in his previous two jobs yet their fans still blame Levein and MacPhee.
Kris Boyd was right to call out Mulraney today - I don't think I've ever seen a player wearing headphones in any warm up in a fixture ever before - their standards are appalling. Heard their players had a wee set too post-game too in the dressing room.

What choice have they got? They can’t turn on a new manager this quickly when it took them so long to get rid of the last one.
I made a pretty pessimistic call at the start of the season that I thought we could go down. I felt it was inevitable that Heckingbottom would be sacked and my fear was that if we got his replacement wrong, you’re pretty much ****ed.
Fortunately my fears seem to have transpired for Hearts rather than us which is absolutely fantastic.
They’ve got no option but to follow him blindly. The writing was on the wall after the Celtic game as some of their fans thought they played well in that game, they really didn’t.

But he knows fancy names for pressing and it is only a matter of time until he exploits the quality of the Hearts side Better still, he is bringing Cockrane back from Dunfermline and so will have access to a world class midfielder
Lots of pubs in Gorgie too
Worried yet?
I’m not sure what Gunther expects from Cockring.
He’s unlikely to make much difference to an already poor side.
Pal of mine is a ST holder at the Pars and says Cockring has added very little, when he gets a game.

Don’t think there’s any doubt about that.
All the signs are there that the current players aren’t onside with him.
If he turns it around, and I don’t think he will, it will be after he brings in different players.
I bet if you were to ask the players if they’d have rather been in on Christmas Day they would have , from a professional perspective of course they had to be in and the players at the club will know that.
Jack Ross said in his interview he’s spent the last few days reminding the players of all the good things they’ve done under his management. The hearts manager spent the last few days on the piss back in Germany not even talking to the players. That’s hugely significant surely.

From what I'm hearing from my Hearts mate very close to the ground there are a few players who hoped he didn't come back :agree::greengrin Massive divides in their dressing room with some players hearing via third party they're off. I think the Jambos might be shocked by how bad Stendel is. Those ‘personal reasons’ for going back to Germany must have been fairly exceptional because he obviously didn’t have detailed training plans for the players.

They are in a hole.
At the press conference he was unveiled at Budge was asked categorically which experienced people had recommended Stendel, since she'd said at the start this was what she would do, interestingly she mumbled through that without giving any names but saying 'a few' or similar. This was after Jeffries had been on Sportsound saying it 2as an odd appointment. He was one that had been mentioned at the start of the 5-6 week process that was to be canvassed for their opinion.
I think she caught the feeling of the support and went after Stendel without any recommendation or advice, it's looking like a bad mistake at this moment, although the lack of his own coaches could well be the main reason for this poor situation?
January window will be revealing, coaches in and out, meaning compo paid, while transfers going ahead while no outgoings will have to mean they're gambling everything.
There's a part of me thinks 9th/10th is as bad or worse than relegation since they'll not have the deep cleanse that it can bring but instead there's a lingering malignant nature to their decline of 6th/6th/10th.
And we can hopefully take advantage and beat them regularly as well

You'll never win again.
didnt they imagine they had some special relationship with Liverpool Football Club after the Europa league tie a few years back?

I listened to his pre match interview and the guy sounded passionate about his job, you could hear it in his voice.
However, I didn't have a clue what he was actually talking about. If his English is that bad in interviews, how is he going to manage to get his points across in the correct manner when it really matters?
I see a downward spiral happening.

Yes they did think that they bumped Liverpool for 50k or so. Now moved on to Citeh, As Budge says everyone knows we have a relationship with Man City. :greengrin

Genuine question, how long will Hearts persist before mutually terminating?

I was thinking about this after yesterday, and it’s maybe what makes this all so funny - and even more likely that Hearts will go down
A core of their support are ****ed off with Budge and, perhaps more so, the remaining presence of Levein and his henchmen at the club. So long as he stays, less of them will be inclined to blame Stendel, which means he’ll be given more of a chance by some of their fans whilst they continue crashing towards relegation. Oh it is fun

It's not been mentioned enough about this thing he has about licking his spots on the sideline. Really vile behaviour.

If they continue as bad as they are then they'll probably have the panic sacking just before they come to ER on March 3rd.

Allowing for the slightly different spelling,
still thinking this is wonderfully ironic...
"Stendhal syndrome, Stendhal's syndrome or Florence syndrome is a psychosomatic condition involving rapid heartbeat, fainting, confusion and even hallucinations, allegedly occurring when individuals become exposed to objects or phenomena of great beauty."
He's got the disbelieving stupor down to a tee, probably not because of the reasons above.
Florence Stendal has a ring to it...

Everyone thinks that a foreign accent means you know what you're doing, theres been many a foreign manager here and in England that's been humpty, look at Killie.

Seems a rushed appointment and sure it was said he didn't apply for it so Hearts have obviously made the first move which probably put him in a strong position re his pre-xmas break. It is a very odd situation with two previous managers still on the payroll as well as previous coaches. The situation with his proposed assistants hasn't been answered properly either. Very difficult position for him especially given the ludicrous number of players they still have despite whining constantly about injuries. The more obvious thing is that Budge is totally out of her depth.

It took Budge six weeks to rush this appointment.
How long would it have taken if she’d taken her time?
Without her trusted courtier, the Queen looks a confused and isolated individual. And her courtier is banished from the throne room but still lingering like a bad smell.

I think he is really going to struggle. He's putting a lot of it down to bad luck.
In their last 2 games they've had 35 shots at goal (8 on target) but only one goal to show for it.
Their problem is that they're almost guaranteed to lose goals with the system they're playing (and the players they have).

Assuming the getting in touch with Stendel was the rushed bit, remember he didn't apply apparently.

I took the kids to the zoo recently, and learnt that the Sun Bear has the longest tongue in the animal kingdom proportionate to their size. But they've never measured Dan's.

Genuinely was staggered by that when watching bits of the game back tonight. Astounding a professional player would do that imo.
They do it quite a lot in basketball during their warm ups. Although their warm ups are mostly done off the court with them coming into the court to shoot some shots and then go back in, it’s quite a bit different.

Hearts supporters seem to be backing him despite today's defeat but what on earth they see in him is beyond me. He is certainly not what Hearts need in their predicament in fact he seems completely lost.
Had a jambo ‘mate’ say they were the better team in the second half, and slightly better than Hibs in the first half!!!

There was chat about alessio having a clause/deal with Killie that either party could call it quits with no pay off. He apparently left 6 months to the day he signed. Wonder if budge/stendel will have the same deal. That way Craig can be waiting in the wings to come to the rescue and make the fans see it wasn't all that bad under him

I think the Jambos might be shocked by how bad Stendel is. Those ‘personal reasons’ for going back to Germany must have been fairly exceptional because he obviously didn’t have detailed training plans for the players.
They are in a hole.
