Played well recently at the Etihad (given how little Villa had of the ball) when I was there.

Regardless how happy SJM may be - bigger clubs will come calling - and Hibs are sure to get 15% of a lot of money this summer IMHO.

:agree: I spoke to someone who knows SJM and he said he won't leave Villa unless they want to sell him. He is very happy where he is at the moment. We all know John is one of the good guys and isn't lead by his wallet. He has true feelings for St Mirren, Hibs and Villa, he appreciates what each club has done for him (regardless of what he has done for each of those clubs). If only more footballers had his attitude the game might not be as mercenary as it is nowadays.

IMO the asking price was way way off. I'm not going to get into why or how we can't get more money or are offered what we are but SJM was a £20m+ all day.

So glad they didn't, it would have been horrible seeing one of life's good guys playing for the horrible club that they are. He is too good a player to be wasting his career in Scotland. He will move on to an even bigger club than Villa and become one of Scotland's best ever exports. As a plus, him playing for Villa has allowed me to cheer him on in every game he plays, wouldn't have done that if he signed for celtic. Will be difficult if he joins Liverpool though!!!
