Sacked by Spurs. Unbelievable job he done over the years. Things have seemed off since start of season there. Team also breaking up as well very soon, will cost a fortune to replace.

He's not looked happy for a while, there was talk of him maybe walking after no signings this past 2 windows and he's been very frustrated, he'll get a good pay off and it won't affect his reputation as people in the game know the circumstances he's been working with.

It’s a sad day for everyone associated at Spurs, the man worked wonders with very little money spent. He will forever be an icon for taking the club to the Champions League final. I think Mourinho will be next in, the club need a winner and that guy is the ultimate winner.

If he’s the ultimate winner, then the polar opposite is Craig Levein? The ultimate loser?

Please let it be Mourinho for Spurs.

I suspect (and fear) that Rafa will be a much better option.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Poch (eventually) replace Pep at City.

Rumour I heard was Pep doesn't like staying in the Manchester area and is looking to go back to Bayern, maybe Poch going there isn't too far fetched.

They went a couple of windows without any signings but spent £90m in the summer.

On who?, still looks the same squad he's had for the past 2 seasons.

Sometimes wonder if these transfer bans (or just not signing a raft of players every season in spurs case) actually help instead of hinder. Poch getting Spurs to the Champions League final despite not signing anyone and Chelsea doing so well this season make you wonder

Tanguy Ndombele was 60 plus million.

Lo Celso was a loan I think.

Ryan Sessegnon was at least 30 million. Also Jack Clarke for about 10.. But sent him back to Leeds on loan.

Significant outlay for Sessegnon and Ndombele.

It's a bad idea to sack Poch rather than back him in the transfer market in January. But to then go and hire Mourinho in his place (if it happens) could actually be one of the dumbest decisions ever made in English football.

Mourinho is an outdated relic at this stage, if you want someone to spend all your clubs money and leave it in a mess in two years time, then he's your man, otherwise he should be well avoided.

Naw! If you want someone to spend all your money and leave your club in a mess Heckys yer man!

They both come from the same management school don’t learn from their mistakes don’t listen to anyone and it is their way or the highway

Be careful what you wish for

Nbombele I did forget about and a good player, totally forgot about Sessegnon, gone from a regular at Fulham to a bit part player at Spurs.

I like Poch but the squad had went stale, read a piece last night on BBC and he was saying he wondered what else he did at Spurs because he has no say in sales or purchases, all he does now is coach. I think he was frustrated at not moving on Rose, Eriksen and Alderwereld.

Absolute madness. They have sacked one of the most progressive and forward-thinking managers on the planet for a man who is an egotistical semi-dinosaur who proved at Manchester United and his last stint at Chelsea he had failed to move with the times. Used to love Mourinho, but think this is a very bad move my Spurs.

Agreed. Does not seem a good fit at all given the Spurs fans like to see their team playing good football.

Levy must have sought advice from Budge as well. Hearts are widely respected as the best run club in Britain after all.
