Bit of fun new manager in and pundits reckon we need two players in,a centre half and centre midfielder. I think three another centre forward .
So spine of the team stuff pick you three players right down the spine to make a difference .

I would definitely discount Griffiths from being anywhere near ER in a playing capacity in the near future. He’s been given a long tether to get himself together and, if and when he does, he’ll be back in their team pronto. I don’t think they would put him out on loan if he is ready to play and I certainly don’t think they they would put him out on loan while he’s getting his head sorted out.

I'd like Efe, but unless McGregor retires or Jackson wants to go back down south, we're well stocked with good defenders. It's competitive players and a link between defence and attack we're missing.

Ambrose would be better than any defender we have and he can bring the ball out of the defence comfortably!

I don’t think it’s even 3 players. 2 would sort us out and one is easy to sort out whilst the other is highly probable.

Bring them home

Efe and Dylan

I'm not so sure about this anymore. I'd be happy to encourage Jackson to go back down South if it meant getting Efe back.

I watched the wycombe game the other day and that akinfenwa fella is something else....the guys massive but quite mobile....he batters through defenders and i reckon he would be a hit playing for us

Two quality players we'd be mad to not bring back just because we've others who can play in those positions. They might be able to play there but not at the same level as Efe and Dylan.

Lewis Morgan.

There's a shiny gold penny for the first person to be daring enough to list 3 players who've not played for us before.

I’d be surprised if Griffiths doesn’t try and get a loan move somewhere in January so hopefully we’d at least give it a try

Natural for people to go with ex players as we know what they can do and where they'd fit in. We also know they fit in to our wage structure. With others you're assuming they'll be good enough/are affordable.

Dorrans isn’t doing the best at Dundee.

I wonder if Jamie Murphy might be an option for the left hand side.

You win a shiny gold penny :greengrin

Mulumbu and Morgan would be brilliant signings. The former especially is what we're crying out for in CM to liberate Allan to go cause havoc a bit further forward.

Great player but if prefer Omeonga I think, younger and more dynamic

It's also highly unimaginative, limits people's scope to what they know, or rather think they know and can contribute to "Griffiths would only have cost 150k" style scenarios where message board tittle tattle becomes "fact" because there is such a collective desire to see a certain player back.

I can't think of 1 player whose 2nd spell has statistically bettered their first (yes, Stokes is an immortal for THAT game but over the piece, he wasn't as prolific 2nd time around). Plenty 2nd timers did us a good turn 2nd time around, don't get me wrong, but I certainly hope our new manager and scouting setup has eyes beyond "players that used to play for us"

Efe would be an exception. If he's available and has been looking after himself these past few months, we should do everything possible to sign him up post haste.

Is he not? I was very surprised he was there when I heard (assumed it was a relation!) and not in our league still, even if coming back from a bad injury not all that long ago. Just someone I pictured being good for us and certainly an improvement on what we've been used to lately.. while perhaps not being ridiculously out of reach. I'm sure the huns were raving about him when he was first playing there, fully fit, and looked decent.

I've only seen a few of their games this season and he seems to have done alright. Do you mean he's not been performing for them, or more that Dundee have been a bit p1sh this season? You may well have seen more of them than me.

As for Jamie Murphy.. forgot about him, you'd think he might be headed somewhere with the options they have available now. :agree:

Dundee aren't going great guns but Dorrans has looked the pick of the bunch on the occasions I have seen them play

I’ve not seen much of them but Dorrans and McDaid were the pick of the Dundee players when I saw them the other week.

I’m sure I seen someone say Jack Ross likes to sign leaders, some who have been captains at their previous club much like what McInnes does/did at Aberdeen

I’m hoping he continues with that
