View Full Version : Why no official confirmation ?

Does anyone who understands the way that football contracts work have any idea why we have not confirmed the departure of Heck ?
Are we likely to be continuing to discuss his severance package ?
Have we actually sacked him or has someone inside ER leaked this to force the issue ?
Maybe Ron is recording a video statement that tells us more than just the sacking ?
Have we already lined someone up to take over ?

It’s odd. Has crossed my mind that there may be more movements within the club than just Hecky.l

Irrespective of the severance, the message from Hibs Board is really tricky to construct. They've made an almighty horlicks of the whole recruitment process from PH to the summer signings. Might be more heads to roll than just the manager's.

I think (hope) they’re going to announce his replacement at the same time as his departure

It did cross my mind too that there may be more departures. Hopefully nothing in it but the lack of an official announcement is a wee bit odd.

Maybe it's another one of those neither sacked nor resigned scenarios.
Trying to find a way to word things that suits all parties.

Well what ever it is, it's going to cost Hibs plenty cash as Stockdale is reported to be away as well, both were on 3 1/2year contracts so a lot of time to be paid up.

Maybe Kenny Miller has been sacked as Comms Director and he has gone home taking the Twitter and website passwords with him !

Maybe leaked by the club early before all the official legal side is done to get the fans back onside and show something is being done

It's been widely reported that there was a 6 month notice period as part of the contract...so we will only have to pay them 6 months (I think)

...or he jumped the gun and briefed his old mates on the Current Bun before he should have.

BBC News just reported that Heckingbottom has been "sacked". So presumably he's leaving by order of the board which means a pay off.

I think the reason Anderton wouldn't come was that the severance package wasn't that generous. There are rumours it could be as low as four months wages.

Further comment from the club expected in the coming days. I’m sure it’ll be Ross and he’ll be in the stand in Perth.

I thought the same. Still on the payroll for now. Hey ho, the squad decisions needed removed from him asap, however it was done.
