Just saw on Sky Sports news that Neil Redfearn has resigned his post at Newcastle. Coincidence?

Is he one of their coaches?

Yes, under 23's. He was one of the names mentioned in the early betting.

Paul Kane thinks we should get Yogi back. There's times I wonder if Paul Kane fell on his head too many times......

No it was Larsson, as the Southend manager still wanted him but he refused the job as he didnt think he could do it without Johnson.

Pier for the course surely.

Very good.

You're a Brighton.

Plus Sam Allardyce at 25/1. I'm sure he'll want to leave his sunny villa to join Hibs for a few quid a week.

I reckon he’ll be a good shout for the Tiny job along with Steve McLaren. She wants a manager with experience and money is not an issue!!

Think so. He fell out with someone at the club.

That and some very poor results for the U23’s recently!

I wonder if Malky Mackay will be in for either of the Edinburgh teams jobs

He was an excellent manager before all those ridiculous texts came out.

Unfortunately for him football fans are not known for their forgiving nature, if people could look past the mistakes he made he’d be an excellent appointment.

Won’t happen though.

Remember meeting him back before we won the Scottish Cup, came across as a good family man. Spoke to him in detail about Hibs and football, he’s very knowledgable and said he has always liked watching Hibs. He might well be in for the job, would take him in a heartbeat.

Being racist, homophobic and misogynistic isn’t a ‘past mistake’. It’s who you are and I don’t want that anywhere near our club.

Probably if you’ve never been on the receiving end of any of that it wouldn’t be such a big deal, which explains why he walked into a job with the blazer brigade.

There’s no doubt that a set of texts and comments that Mackay sent and said were racists , and homophobic ...certainly shows some of his beliefs at the time ...

Do you not feel though that people can learn, be re-educated, have different empathy and awareness of the impact of such views?

Do people not deserve a second chance ?

Was Malky Mackay ever really an excellent manager? I don’t recall him doing an incredible job anywhere. Given his past and also his current role, I don’t see him getting (or being interested in) the Hibs job.

:agree:

That said, it’s still a no thanks from me.

I hope we get a manager with the longevity of McInness at Aberdeen. They must piss themselves at Hibs and Hearts chopping and changing every couple of years on average. Aberdeen always seem to get off to a slow start then come good.

Amen. A few years of consistently performing at a level consistent with our size and player budget would be brilliant, and has never happened in all my years following Hibs.

Sergio Porrini appearing randomly in the odds list is now explained as he was at Hampden to watch Flo. Call up for Albania imminent.

Seems Stoke have made a formal approach for O’Neill so can rule that one out.

Iv said this on numerous occasions and for me is a big reason if Aberdeen’s success. Everyone knows how they will be playing and when they recruit players it’s for specific positions that tie into that.

The only thing is unless a manager is doing brilliant year on year fans get sick of them very quickly. Despite his success at Aberdeen a lot of their fans want him gone and have done for quite a while. They can’t stand his negative approach to the old firm and never go into the games confident, they’re also getting tired of not winning a cup.

Stay away from Neil Redfearn - dinosaur in the Butcher mould and I would rather have Hecky back.

Ross to hold talks with Hibs and Hearts according to the Sun. The "big names" must have told Budge to bolt

According to a source on here (another thread), Ross is a done deal. To be announced Monday or sooner! Text from a player! Who knows.

Ross to hearts, robinson to northern Ireland, we will be scrapping the barrel again for another manager again, wish they would just get the finger out and beat them to it

Sounds great. Jump steps in our process, and potentially miss out on a better candidate. At least we will have beaten hearts to signing them though!! Thank god your not on the board.
