Posted a loss of £11.3m in their last accounts. If they don't win the league they are going to be in real trouble again.

Gambling on doing well in Europe and winning the league. Achieved the first so will save them and the second target will be achieved in next couple of years. I’m afraid all is well down Grayskull way!

They still have a loyal support, a team performing well in the Euro league so potentially some of the players sell on values will bring them good cash. They are in a better spot now that before Gerrard arrived.

True. I'd imagine the Euro money will be to cover the Ryan Kent transfer. They still have the memorial wall case and Mike Ashley stuff too.

If Celtic win the league this season they'll post even more loses next year as they chuck everything to stop the 10.

They need £10 million in loans to keep going to end of season. £25 million of loans converted to shares. That value would be impossible to sell on an unlisted market. There are no buyers so essentially worthless. Another £25 million needed to keep going next year on top of normal revenues. They would have to sell players to stay viable but that would of course give Celtic 10 in a row. Bankruptcy looks a realistic prospect or ditch trying to stop 10 in a row. Going to be good watching.

They'll get about £15 million for Morelos which will dig them out a hole for another few years.

They'll never accept being 2nd to Celtic even though Celtic can realistically outspend them by quite some margin if necessary, they will be in the Lowland League as "The The's" as they implode again..

Till the end of the season. But cant stop 10 in a row. They they will try it this season. Win or fail they will off load players and Gerrard may go back to England.

They make about £20 million a year just through season ticket sales. Add on about another half million in none ST sales for league games. Then throw in ticket money from Europe and cup games. Then Sponsorship deals, then TV deals, European and domestic. Like it or not, they can afford it and that's before the need of selling Morelos or Kent.

Financial fair play?

That's after a fair increase in their turnover too, over £50m. Madness.

I think I’m the only person who couldn’t care less about finances in football. Let the Board worry about that. I just want to see the game.

They have a £10 million shortfall to the end of the season. That is they need that to pay players wages. Think those who have lent will stump or sell players in the window but then 10 in a row is on. I think they will gamble this season and sell in the summer win or loose.

We've all seen this before, and nothing happens

They're not in any trouble. Last time they were in trouble they literally didn't sign players for 18 months. They are still signing big names and filling the ground and winning most weeks.

Aye, you’re probably right. Cup runs record crowds and spending a lot less than before while being topped up by directors regardless of losses. Their hardly signing the likes of Ian Black and Kevin Kyle either, I would say the opposite and they are stronger than they have been for at least a decade.

They literally can’t afford it. They are losing money hand over fist and relying on benefactors year after year. They are only able to keep going so long as they can keep getting people to give them £10m every year with no chance of getting their money back. Maybe they will always find such people but I would not count on it.

I wouldn’t call what happened in 2012 nothing.

They will need another £10million to see them to the end of the season - but that doesn't include Ashley's court costs or the final settlement for damages to Sports Direct. And they may yet face a claim for damages from Hummel. Don't see how these accounts can be viewed as anything other than bad news for them.

Rangers' losses by season:

2012/13 -£14m
2013/14 - £8.1m
2014/15 - £7.5m
2015/16 - £3.3m
2016/17 - £6.7m
2017/18 - £14.3m
2018/19 - £11.3m

Total for last seven years - £65.2m
This is an unsustainable business model. I’m amazed it’s lasted this long.

All they've got to show for it is the Petrofac Cup

This year's accounts will show the Ryan Kent fee as well as whatever they have to pay Mike Ashley. They won't be pretty either....

People are losing a lot of money. They are getting by on benefactors giving them free money.
