We would not be paying his wages all Celtic will want is a clear steer he will get a lot of first team football where ever be goes. And that the loan suits Celtic, Leigh and his family.

Our manager made it quite clear that we have no money when asked about Ambrose so we are wasting our time talking about getting Griffiths unless he pays his own wage to come to us, it ain't happening.

Doyle played more as a winger (the position Flo was asked to play last season).

Frequently under Pat Fenlon, Hibs set up as 9 men behind the ball + Super Leigh doing his thing.

Not really fussed with McNulty if I'm honest. He's struggling to score goals in League 1 for a team that despite it's struggles is playing on the front foot a lot. If he was free then maybe. But I'm certainly glad we didn't pay money for him in the summer as some wanted.

Not sure what this means.

Fenlon took a team that could have got relegated to reasonably comfortable safety and a cup final.

In the next season and a bit his teams generally averaged 4th to 5th place. We spent more time in 1st and 2nd than we ever did in the bottom 4 places.

We dipped into the bottom six just at the wrong time at the end of that season not helped by 2 horrendous refereeing decisions. We then won was it 5 of our games in that half and got to another cup final.

I don’t think we were bottom six when he left.

We’re miles away from the heights of being a Fenlon Episode 2.

Fenlon wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination. But I think he was actually fairly adequate and capable of taking what was a horrendously average squad and making them difficult to beat and keeping us above water and generally being competitive without ever being exciting, albeit 5-1 and Malmo hung over him like a bad smell.

I don't think as a team we were far off being something similar to what Tommy Wright did with St Johnstone over the years we were in the Championship. I think it's probably telling of how "good" a job he did do with that squad when you consider he had us mid table then Butcher sank them.

We had won 4 times in the whole year at home under Fenlon, one was against Stranraer and we had been humiliated (again) by Malmo then emptied out the cup by hearts in administration. It was definitely time for Fenlon to leave but at the same time you’re right - he actually improved us from the position he found us in. The opposite of Heckingbotton in terms of squad wise if not league position.

He'd be close to Celtic so they could monitor him, playing every week at a club he loves so would help him, couldn't play against Celtic but could against the likes of Rangers given us more chance to take points off them. Boosting Celtic's chances of winning the league.

Has a mega contract with Celtic until 2022.
No team down south is going to match that wage unless he shows he is ready to perform at a high level again.
I can see him doing very little until they pay him off.
Once that happens we may see him at Easter Road.

He has the same kind of life/work ethic issues as Charnley, Riordan, O' Connor, Best etc had in the past and as such may almost be done. There will be regular comeback chat and flickers of form in the next 3 years interspersed with lots of breaks before he disappears into oblivion to be remembered forever for his 2 wonderful free kick goals against England and what might have been.
