Might prove to be an unpopular opinion but it’s time to give up on him. He’s simply not effective enough. One good game against hearts isn’t cutting it. Doesn’t offer nearly enough as an attacking winger.

Needs moved on.

Been saying it for weeks. Time to give up on the wingers and deploy 3 attacking midfielders instead, they're offering very little attacking threat at the moment.

Horgan is the most frustrating player we have right now, bags of ability but absolutely no confidence to take on a man and his delivery from wide is horrible.

He's short on confidence the now, no question..

Does he need taken out into a large field to practice crossing for 10 hours a day? Very possibly.

Should our prevailing attitude as a support be to "give up" on our players? No.

Can't be played in a struggling team like we are that already has two non combative midfield players in Allan and Mallan.
Had he played from the start yesterday we would have lost.

Should be on the bench and brought on as an impact player in the last 20 minutes when the battle is over and the opposition legs are tiring.

His lack of crossing accuracy is a big issue as it was at his previous club Preston.
As a previous poster has said he should be getting specialist crossing training 4 hours a day until he masters this essential wingers skill.

Thats what happened yesterday, and the first thing he did was "not trap a great crossfield pass from Vela".

Needs dropped, would much rather have Murray in there as he has at least as much pace and.......given recent eveidence............better crossing ability

Not a fan of threads that target one player in a piss poor squad, he’s not been great but neither have plenty of others.

I agree, apart from the odd decent game he's a poor player, 39 league games with only 4 goals to show for it isn't a great return, headless chicken is what I see, we can get better.

It's now his 2nd season though, so not really having a go at him for our poor start this season, he's also not a young inexperienced laddie anymore.

Plenty threads slaughtering players who have, in my opinion, been more effective than he has. He’s escaped criticism because he scored a winner at tynecastle. That’s not good enough.

Time to move him on.

Besides Boyle I struggle to remember a winger at Hibs that genuinely got people off their seats and made a sizeable impact.

We've had the likes of Barker who were promising but ultimately flattered to deceive.

He suffers from the way we play imo. Good player when on form.

And how are we going to do that outside of the transfer window?

Who's going to buy him if he's so poor? Has he not already got over 18 months left on his contract?

Nah, there's a good player in there, capped recently for the Republic. We've got to work out how to get the best from him.

What is the reason why he's blowing out of his arse after 60 odd minutes?

Is it medical?

He hasn’t had a cap for Ireland since March 2017. So essentially he hasn’t had a cap in his entire Hibs career. With regards to your “who will buy him?” Question...... someone will. Someone bought James Collins, Clayton Donaldson etc from us.

He’s not good enough. Other than that 1 game at hearts he’s been average at best in his 18 or so months here.

I wouldn't replace him with a winger as he's more of an inside forward who cuts in off the left, unfortunately he doesn't score enough. I'd be looking at a pacy forward that can chip in with a few more goals if we're going to play 4-3-3, or get in a better attacking midfielder to play alongside Allan.

Should be ahead of Vela with Mallan moving centrally. Can’t stand having a CM out wide

He was a punt by Preston which didn't work out, after seeing Newell, Vela etc from the Championship, I'd suggest that just because they came from that league, means nowt. Horgan had only played LOI football before Preston and TBH that looks to be his level.

Hence he would take Mallan’s position out wide as said ....

Mallan played very narrow yesterday, he was miles away from the touchline.

Horgan reminds me of our ex duracell-bunny "Murray" - all action with little end product.

He has no vision and everything breaks down when it gets to him. Preston fans said his crossing was dreadful, doesn't seem to have improved much at us.

Nothing against the guy, I just think we can do better in that position.

And as for his fitness, why can't he last more than an hour? That's just grim for a professional.

Murray was well underrated.

I was genuinely sorry to see Murray go...and to South Africa of all places.
I loved his all-action style, and when he delivered he certainly delivered, but too often his forays came to nothing.

What a load of bollocks. Play him in a 4-2-3-1 with him Allan and Middleton as a 3 three behind Flo and we'd be on to a winner. Admittedly we are screwed for 2 DM's but get that sorted and we'd be some team going forward IMO.

We played that at Motherwell, exactly that. Lost 3-0.

It's time to ditch the wingers and go back to 3-5-2. When Boyles back we can start playing him up front with Doidge/Flo again with Allan in front of Halberg and Vela.

Horgan clearly has some talent and while Middleton looks like a fine wee player I have no burning desire to see either of them on the pitch.

We create zero in the way of actual chances and something has to give and I believe this is the natural first step.

Boyle is an awful striker, do not want him up front.

Boyle's not an out and out striker agreed. But as an actual footballer his presence and contribution is undeniable. He works his socks off and creates problems for defenders. I wouldn't expect him to be our answer to some of our issues but at this point in time we need to go back to 2 up top and I think someone like him beside Doidge or Flo could help them get both goals.

Which is why we need a decent DM in order to play that way.

We’ve played most of his time at Hibs in this formation and he’s done pretty much nowt in them.

He gets a free ride from people coz of that game at Tynie. He needs moved out. He’s not good enough.

Better stats than Ryan Kent last season.

Having a poor run of form, but worth persevering with.

Needs to get fitter though.

Not disagreeing but.....he's a flipping professional athlete, all he does at work is fitness stuff.

If he can't be fit by September there's something wrong!

Boyle is the closest thing we have had since Arthur Duncan

I hope he comes back fitter stronger and has lost none of his pace

As for Horgan always seems to choose the wrong option his crosses never clear the first defender no stamina but loved his double at Tiny 😁
