Calls from Sunderland fans to sack him. If he became available would you take him?

He’s done the opposite to hecky and took players from Scotland to sunderland

Not sure..

Would nearly take anyone different right now.

But he’s currently failing at Sunderland and apart from St Mirren what makes him a good fit ?

38% win ratio at Alloa.

Not fully convinced.

He'll do, get him in.

I'd probably say that about any potential replacement right now.

God no. We have better now.

How is he failing? I looked at the table expecting them to be bottom half but they are not. They have drawn their last two. That is a dip in form not a hibs style collapse. Lost one in the league so far. Winnable games coming up...

It might be the expectations of Sunderland fans - be in the promotion places and stay there. Maybe the style of football. I'm all for high standards - would love to see them maintained at hibs. However, he is not failing in the same way Heck is failing up here.

Hell with games against Appleton's Lincoln coming up and a six pointer against Fleetwood things could be looking a lot better if Sunderland can arrest the 'slump'.

I'd take him.

I'd take him just on the off chance it'd mean we could get Dylan in on loan come January.

We’re talking about his suitability for the Hibs job.

You don’t need to get into a relationship with him.

Iirc Ross went 11 or More game at St Mirren without winning a match ...there must have been a decent number of their fans calling for his head ...he then went on an incredible run completely changing their performance levels and ultimately comfortably
Winning their league

Surprised he is not doing better, but still
Wouldn’t rule him out getting them up this season

Why?

A quick Google search and I found James Fowler defending Jack Ross in the Sunderland echo. Talking about how hard he works. Him changing the club behind the scenes from the minute he walked in the door. That fans forget how bad things were 16 months ago before he took over.

Sunderland desperately need promotion and every defeat or draw must seem like a disaster. They are not exactly floundering.

He has built a decent squad and often his targets are players we'd happily have taken.

He has decent experience up here and down there. Not thirty games in the sun before being confined to the football scrap heap like Heck.

Any manager we appoint will have a failure on their cv or will be a rookie. Pretty much the case for every Scottish club.

Strachan would be great but he can't be arsed.
Ross would be a good choice when he gets the chop at Sunderland, however, i suspect he will want to stay down there.

I don't know enough about him to say one way or the other. He seems a bit of a mixed bag. Alloa were relegated on his watch but were 2nd in the league, had a couple of decent unbeaten runs and drew with Celtic earning him his move to St Mirren. Slow start there but ultimately kept them in the Championship when they were in real danger then won the league the following season. Came close to getting Sunderland up last year but seems to be toiling this year. I've no idea how much of a financial advantage he actually has dowm there.

It would be easy to say yes because our current manager is so poor or no he's no better than we have but I'll have to bow to others superior knowledge as beyond a few article online I know nothing about the guy.

Why?

St Mirren were looking likely to go down to league 1 before he came in. Then got them promoted in his first full season in charge, playing some good football. Goes down to Sunderland where the new owners are trying toneffectively run the club as cheaply as possible, gets them to a playoff final. Admittedly, they werent great in the final but he was pretty much a couple of mistakes away from taking another side up at the first time of asking.

He knows the game up here and that can only be a plus

Thought I’d ask the question, seems to divide opinion. Only thing we can all agree on at this rate is we’d take anyone over PH!

No from me

He could be another Derek McInnes, as in does well up here, then not bad but not excellent down south then comes back up and galvanises a big Scottish side who have been struggling.

I’d rather Stubbs though.
