Obviously Heckingbottom's time is up (his position is clearly untenable now - even while we were leading and level we were awful), but the longer term problem is what we are going to do with all the crap he has signed.

Players like Joe Newell have clearly already been written off by the current management but the likes of Vela and Doidge offer nothing at this level either.

The new manager is going to want to bring in his own signings but it will be hard with all the rubbish we are stuck with on long term contracts.

How many of these lower league duds can we realistically hope to get shot of in January? Or will we be stuck with them for the rest of the season and beyond?

We need to either put them out on loan, if anyone wants them. Or we refuse to play them again and tell them all to find new clubs.

Ron's contingency fund will need to be used to buy us a whole new squad of players - maybe even a defensive midfielder, a captain and a couple of decent goal scorers. Hell, we could also hire a private eye to try track down some of our players guts and balls.

The new head coach has to get performances out of the players we've signed. We wanted players under contract. It is significant that we've moved away from short term loans. Now we have to make it work.

If we presume Hecky being inept is a big part of the problem then we have to give the players a clean slate when he goes.

They wont all make it at this club but a couple might. They can all still contribute. Get a DM in and let Scott Allan pull the strings.

Salvage some pride this season and build from there.

Maxwell - Okay today, but rubbish all the other times.
Naismith - Looks okay, but jury out.
Jackson - Bit soft but okay.
James - Meh.
Hallberg - Two games in but wasn't especially good today and missed a big chance.
Vela - Runs a lot but is a bit meek. Woeful at their winner. Needs to toughen up and take more responsibility.
Newell - Garbage.
Doidge - Also garbage.

The big issue for me is the ones who came from England not grasping what it's like. They underestimated the league imo and they aren't used to playing in front of big crowds. They're all from diddy clubs.
