Over the years the focus of hibs.net has been to provide a platform for Hibs fans to discuss Hibs and football in general. There has always been a desire among posters to discuss other issues and since their inception the non football boards have provided this opportunity.

However these boards are not the primary focus of the site and we have no desire to spend an excessive amount of time moderating them. Unfortunately in recent times the Holy Ground has become an increasingly problematic area requiring ongoing intervention. This is a situation that can't continue.

Please treat this as a general warning to all users of this board. Abusive and aggressive behaviour towards other posters is not acceptable. Goading or calling out posters is unacceptable at any time but is particularly unacceptable when they are not actively contributing to a thread at the time of posting. We are not schoolchildren, name calling is not acceptable. Acting as a 'mob' to shout down and mock other posters is not acceptable. Continued harassment and bullying behaviour towards other posters is not acceptable. Trolling is not acceptable.

We have no desire to stifle open, respectful and robust debate. However if the current trend of behaviour on the Holy Ground continues then we will be forced to act. We ask all posters who use this board to consider their behaviour and posting style. If the basic rules of common decency continue to be ignored then you risk jeopardising both your own future posting on the site and the future of the Holy Ground forum in general.

Thanks.

Well said. I may have been guilty of retaliation at some points and for that I apologise, but have never got involved in name calling or mocking and bullying other posters. Some of the behavior recently has been quite pathetic.

Why don't you bin those who post almost exclusively on the Holy Ground, given that they obviously have no desire to discuss "Hibs and football in general", the raison d'être of .net?

Rather than let this thread descend into an argument as well I'm going to close it.
