I like the idea of two energetic box to box style midfielders working hard to close down space and get forward to support the front four. Mallan and Slivka add a different option in there to allow us to change it around if chasing goals or wanting to keep possession. Personally I think it's shaping up nicely now.

Some cracking goals he scored over his short career so far - at such a young age. He’s got a ping Zitelli, Riordan, Griffiths and McGinn would be proud of.

Cracking potential, international experience and superb age.

According to his stats for last season he was involved with the squad 21 times, after starting off with reserves and under 21s. He started 13 games, came on from the bench 7 times and not brought on once.

He plays mostly CM but has also played DM, RM and LW. Scoring one and getting 2 assists from CM. Picked up a few bookings. Looks like he might be the runner and tackler we're missing!

I think his last game was in March though, so don’t expect him starting in league soon.
