Will we see the largest home support of the season?

Looking forward to getting back to league action.

What’s the latest update ?

Well, we've only had one other game so far so it's a definite possibility.

Be surprised if it wasn't. 7 goals scored in our last game 😉

Weather going to be cracking too, nothing better than a game in the warm sunshine 👍

Eight against Morton.

Seven was the game before that unfortunately.

I'm looking forward to this. Porteous to return. I'm expecting a big performance. We've got a chance to get some momentum going now.

No more injuries please!

I think he means seven for us.

5 at one end, 2 at the wrong end.

This game is selling very well.

Surprised no one has done a dot count on this thread.

Also surprised the south has yet to open for home supporters.

Lots of seats left in the home stands particularly the Famous Five.. We will be doing well to break 16,000.

Has there actually ever been a gate where people pay? Always wondered.

Of course there has.

Fairly recently too.

I'm maybe younger than I think. I can only think of turnstiles. Or is that classed or known as a gate?

I should really just have googled why a gate is referred to 😀

In the pre 90s it was the most common way of getting into the ground. In 1988 I paid £3 at the gate to see Hibs vs Aberdeen with Archiebald playing for Hibs having signed from Barcelona where he replaced Maradona. That is the equivalent to £8 in today's money. How times have changed.

It was pay at the gate at Stirling Albion this season

I honestly couldn't think of any. Except maybe junior grounds.

Had a look online and looking like it's going to be well below 16k for this game, maybe even under 15k

Not unexpected but attendances will rise again if we string a run of decent results (and displays) together.

I guess there were far too many dishonest turnstile operators up and down the country hence the drive to invest in other methods. However this season has already proved that the "other methods" don't always work as they should!

Likewise SQ. My auld man used to take me and lift "me over". Then when he deemed me old enough to go along on my own it was "Gie's a lift o'er Mr" to any random adult in the queue. first time i paid i recall it was 1/6 shillings (7 and a half pence (?)). 3d for a programme ffs .

Oddly the rise in cost in no way reflects on any increase of quality on the park !!!

The "other methods" back in the day were Sir Tom Harts' turnstyle.... Good on him, innovator and had the bollocks to stand up to the hun and their BBC acolytes.

The day of the "lift over" disappeared after the introduction of full height turnstiles. It then became a "shove through" lol

The odd game at Easter Road was ticketed in the old days.I've a feeling the Real Madrid friendly was.May have been because of the price and the club wanted to make sure they would raise enough to pay Real.It was six bob (30p) and a lot of supporters didn't go because it was so expensive.Think normal price to the ground was about 25P.

Also clubs could underplay attendances for tax reasons.

These games are our bread and butter, got to win games. Teams used to fear coming to ER, not anymore. In fact they enjoy the experience and know exactly how to frustrate us and get US on the teams back, then they sucker us.

Thank Sauzee for Scott Allen

You tell me....i am not so anal as to check stats, but i would guess in excess of 4/5 . Add losing winning positions which we slackly ended up drawing then ER is no threat now to other teams

I think crowds of the last three seasons have changed our expectations of what constitutes a decent attendance.
