I’ve noticed most guys have similar hairstyles these days. Shaved sides and back with a bit of a flick comb over going on.

Not much originality going on at the moment or is there ?

I’m bald, so I’m just saying :greengrin

I blame Peaky Blinders. Either way it’s an abomination of a hairstyle IMO.

Men trying to look hard, it's not exactly avant-garde fashion.

Works best when you can grow a full beard. Doesn't look right on the many baby faces I see strolling around.

We’re like North Korea, we have the option of 3 haircuts when we go to the barbers :agree:

Guys with these stupid perms (usually wee laddies to be fair) need to be sorted right out though. Horrendous stuff.

When back in the UK, it sometimes feels like the men are all cloned. Same clothes and hairstyles amongst different generations. It's bordering on uniforms.

0.5 at the back and sides, tidy up on top has served me well since I started deciding my own haircuts. Number 1 all over just before going on holiday on occasions. I couldn't be bothered changing hairstyles now.

Let's be honest that full beard, comb over thing is going to be our generations equivalent of the perm or mullet. Folk will look back at photos in years to come and cringe.

I've had a similar haircut since I was about 10, my go to casual clothing of choice is polo shirt and jeans, I can wear a suit and tie properly and I've never worn trousers that don't reach my ankles. All in all I think I'll be OK when it comes to potentially embarrassing photos being dragged up.

My "style" is derived from charity shops, fixing up old tweed blazers and jackets etc. and the super-ridiculous part of Debenham's and Marks & Spencers sales when what's left over gets reduced by 90-95%. I'm wearing just now a pair of salmon/pink chinos (reduced from £25 to £1.49 in M&S), a band t-shirt I've had for eleven years, a tweed jacket I bought for a fiver and fixed up and added a couple of band pin badges to and my glasses which cost me £19 online. My haircut is an £8 job at the local barbers - five round the back and sides and tidied at the top.

For some bizarre reason I'm considered a hipster by colleagues but I just can't be ****ed looking around shops with loud music, awful displays and £40 t-shirts. I also hate denim jeans :greengrin

Number one round the back and sides.

Sort of combover thing on top in an act of defiance/ denial about the accelerating male pattern baldness that is going on.

Full beard.

I couldn't fight sleep and don't look hard so there isn't really anything I can do about the abuse of this look higher up the thread.

More coffee please.

As a small 60 year old, I’m comfortable with the same number 2 clippers all over that I’ve had for the last 20 years.
I’m lucky that my hair is still black and would grow into an Alan Rough 1978 if I didn’t keep it in check.
I sometimes think that testosterone is going to the wrong place 😳

Apart from 'that' shirt that keeps cropping up in your childhood photos!!

I get a 2 back and sides and then blended in on the top. My hair is still thick and full on the top despite my advancing years and there is not much grey either. If I don't get it cut, it grows up and out the way rather than down.

Is a number one all over with an eyebrow trim counted as a hairstyle?

Aside from a brief period in my mid-teens when I inexplicably had long hair, I've been a short back and sides all my life. Don't see the point in styling it, especially when it almost always looks ridiculous and any photos taken with it age very badly.

Feel your pain mate. Some day a cure for baldness will be foundFunny that, losing my hair is something that has never bothered me, Im 52 and if I wanted I could grow a decent mop but Ive shaved it to the bone for years, its much more manageable, up in the morning and its splash n go 😆

I remember an ex brewery colleague many years back had a fine mop, then he found a grey hair and decided to get it dyed, think it was a DIY job, he went from dark brown to jet black then to a strange dark green colour in a matter of days 😆

Number two back and sides with a scissor trim on top has been my “style” for years. The grey at the sides has come with age but hey ho I still have a good head of hair at 52. Young laddies seem to lose their hair earlier these days.

2 at the back and sides with that messy ‘just out of bed’ thing going on. It’s been that way since 2003 and I’m probably far too old for it but I’ll be buried like that.

Always seem to let it grow too long before getting it cut though. Sheer laziness and I spend weeks either wearing a baseball cap or walking around looking like 1964 Paul McCartney.

Didn't realise there were so many fuddy duddys on .net. 😁.

I don't know how long I've got till the mop starts receding so I'm all about the trendy haircuts.

No excuse for the skin tight ankle jeans though....

I’m the same, although I usually go for a 3 back and sides.

I’m the same try to get it cut every 4 weeks to keep the grey at bay at the sides(I’m 47) Benjamin’s barber shop sorts me out.

I tend to stick to the same haircut for ages. For years I had it cut short and textured on top. Now I'm more Beatles circa 1964 mop top, which I've had about five years. Proud to boast I've never had an abominable hairdo e.g. perm, mullet, streaks. Never grown my hair long either, but it's thick and gets wavy without a regular trim, so I'm not sure I could.

Never grown a beard; a few days of stubble when I can't be bothered shaving is my limit. Don't like facial hair.

"Errrrr yeah, just cut a bit off then finish it off with clippers at the edges" have been my instruction to the barber since time began. I was blessed/afflicted with a belting set of curtains back when this was the fashion and held on to them for longer than was strictly advisable upon reflection - this means bad photos of me abound sadly :greengrin

My hairdo varies depending on how I feel. Since leaving the military I've tried growing it long but it normally starts to get on my nerves when I consciously become aware of my fringe and I end up getting it cut. In my lifetime I've had everything from skinhead to perm. Normally just comb it into some form of side parting nowadays.

I've wondered about those gash footballer hairdos for a while and I just don't know why anyone wants to look like a 1939 squaddie.

Do these guys still use Brylcreem?
