Suprised there is no thread on this given the Madeleine McCann thread. Massive apologies if already a thread. How tragic, my heart goes out to the family and friends

It's heartbreaking. In her short life she had to struggle with severe learning difficulties, and then died in such a tragic way. I see at this stage the cause of death is inconclusive, but she was found naked in a stream; it's impossible to imagine anything other than foul play. Perhaps there's another explanation, but it seems very unlikely. Your heart bleeds for her poor family.

Very sad, more information due.

Just reading cause of death starvation. Incredibly sad.

Just read that.
Wonder why she was naked though?

I can't understand how a post mortem has concluded that there was no foul play.
A severely disabled, vulnerable teenager is found dead and naked a mile away from where she went missing in a foreign country that she had only arrived in a few days earlier.
Something doesn't add up there.
I hope her parents find the truth, I can't imagine what they're going through. Such a horrible tragedy.

Heard the spokesman this morning and he didn't sound very convincing with his no foul play line.

So they are saying hunger and stress was the cause of death and she wasn't killed. Yet she was naked in a stream? It's bizarre. Hopefully more details emerge.

Just to clarify, they're not saying the cause of death was starvation; they're saying it was internal bleeding brought on by stress and hunger. Starvation is something different.

The post mortem would just conclude there was no evidence of foul play within the narrow remit of a post mortem. It wouldn't conclude there was no foul play.
The circumstances of her disappearance and her state of dress when found wouldn't be directly relevant to the post mortem remit.

She wanders off, gets lost in thick jungle, she gets more and more stressed, her body breaks down, overheats, is delirious, strips off her clothes, and goes into a stream to cook down?

Sounds plausible.

It could happen. The poor girl was very vulnerable and must have been terrified. Who knows why she would have wandered off in the night. For her family's sake, natural causes must be easier to live with than murder/manslaughter.

It's possible I suppose, however her parents did say at the outset that her disappearance was completely out of character.

Aye, but being out of the country was also out of character for her.

Her parents will be wracked with guilt for the rest of their lives. Real shame.
