A few years ago we went through there with a decimated defence, played a weird formation that included Stevenson at centre back and a very inexperienced Porteous and managed to walk away with the win (maybe one of the 3-0s?).

Something like that again night be required. :dunno:

I’d be seriously thinking about a back three but I don’t think Heckingbottom will be.

It’s the only way we can really get two strikers in the team on Sunday IMO and I think our only chance is to have a go at them. If we sit back, we’ll lose.

I like this line up, it gives us experience in the left and right back slots. I thought Vela gave the ball away a couple of times around the half way line against St Mirren and if he repeated that at Ibrox we would suffer, so he should be on the bench for me. We, like other teams, are best with two up front but I doubt we can do that at least from the start away against them. So your line up has potential as far as I'm concerned.

I worry our midfield won’t cope with the Huns midfield, so Vela has to start for me and put in a much better performance than last week. I’d also like to see McGregor, Jackson and Hanlon in the side so I’d go:

That would be my thought also with some concern re the wide players if Whitty and Mackie if 352. We haven't as far as I am aware played a 352 before now under this coach so would be a little surprised if he played it on Sunday. I think we would need McGregor in to physically compete with Morelos. Need to keep it tight and break out as we will create chances I think.

I agree with this. Rangers have real pace on the wings so you need to protect the fullbacks by having 3 CB’s.

No offence but that would be ridiculous. He doesn't have the legs to play there. Murray maybe although not at Ibrox. It'll be a back four anyway going by PH's choices so far.

I do wonder if he might play Jackson in midfield though. They scored from set pieces last week and there's maybe merit fitting Daz, Jackson and Hanlon in the team.

Think he needs Newall out there to stop Tavernier bombing forward. We need Mackie doing what he does best and that’s getting forward to link with Newall and put pressure on the same Tavernier. Think he may prefer Slivka to Mallan for this one, more athletic.

Malan for Newal lacks the experience of Ibrox and the fight needed for such an occasion.

Newell may not track back as much as other players but he does help out, he will also give Tavernier a decision to make and hopefully keep him pinned back.

If we went 352 we would have Tavernier and their winger doubling up on Mackie and be inviting pressure.

Gray and Stevenson still not Match fit.

Im absolutley buzzing for this game, can’t wait to see what we’re like. Nervous, but excited.
