Formations

Got me thinking last night with Boyle coming off injured, what other formations might we play this season?

So far played 442 with wingers and 433 with wingers supporting a striker, but to be honest I'm not sure we can play these as effectively if Boyle was injured. Could we see a diamond midfield or a 352 ?

I suppose the pros of these are we get 2 strikers upfront which would help Flo, but sacrifice a bit of width. Not sure if James is able to play wingback either?

It's a controversial formation at times but I like your 3-5-2. :agree:

SDG/Boyle, Porteous, and Stevenson can easily slot in once fit again - if Hecky wants to play them.
Newall could probably play WB or AM as well I would imagine.

I think Stevenson is the best LB/LWB we’ve got and can’t see him not starting when fit.

I thought tonight might have been a diamond with Vela holding and Mallan pushing forward but couldn’t get a good look at it due to only watching the game on my phone/cooking dinner/entertaining children.
