It should be a sellout what with all the folk who said they wouldn’t be back until Petrie leaves returning to Easter Road.

Thats complete rubbish mate. Did you bother to look at the stadium map? You can easily get 4 seats together in the following blocks for the St Mirren game.

West Stand, blocks 1, 2, 9, 10 and 15

Famous 5, blocks 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 25

East Stand, blocks 37, 38, 44 and 45

That's the key. I've been keeping half an eye on it and in early June, when seats moves became available, there were lots of spaces. It's now fairly full in the central areas with availability round the edges. If the KFK tickets are used in there too it'll help fill some of those seats (as well as freeing up seats in the East).

If the seat blockers have been moved out and the seats have been taken by people who will actually turn up it'll help a lot. I think it'll look better than some people are hoping.

Maybe more visible on Saturday.

It looks like Saturday will be along the lines of a slightly below average crowd compared to our averages for the last couple of seasons, but I for one wont be too worried about that. I think there was always going to come a time when our attendances settled down to a more realistic level after a period where growth was way out of line to our historic average post the 60s.

After the massive rise we had my hope was always that we would come out of this period to a place where our expected hard core attendance season on season went from 8 to 10 thousand to 10 to 12 thousand. It still looks like we might be on course for that, or possible even slightly better, and if that's the case it would be a good base from which to grow our 'hard core' support even more in the future.

Of course, winning stuff from time to time will help with that :greengrin

They are new seats - possibly for disabled carers? But 100% more seats than available previously.

Looking at stadium plan..

West - Sections 12,13,14, 3, 4 and 6 sold out.
East - Section 41 sold out - but majority of middle section nearly full.
FF - Most available.

Anyone know what's the lastest with the drum and singing section ? Will it be there on Saturday ?

Maybe I just didn't make my point very well :)

The number of Season Ticket sales is down a bit but I don't think that'll affect the number of people actually in attendance.

There seemed to be be quite a large number of people that bought STs last year but didn't attend very often. If they haven't bought the STs this year, the reported attendance figures will be slightly down but not the number that actually turn up to games.

The signings have been a bit uninspiring and that will be reflected in the attendances. If they prove to be good players and we get results, attendances will soar, but for now, I get the feeling there is sense of apathy with some fans.

I don’t think it helps when the manager said we’re finished for transfers now. Most fans were disappointed in the summer window last year and felt we were not fully covered, after record sales that was a bit of a blow. I think the signings this summer have been uninspiring although still could turn out good. That coupled with the mystery of what happened with Lennon it’s not surprising that Hibs haven’t inspired folk to rush out and get ST’s. I got mine straight away as usual but I’m a bit disappointed with the shortages in our squad again.

Sometimes the club have to make some juicy signings to keep the1,000 ST’s we’ve lost, as yet I don’t see that and I’m not surprised so many haven’t renewed, which is very disappointing as we needed to capitalise on last seasons record.

Hopefully the signings we have made will turn to be very good and we can attract those people back again.

Joking aside, I'm not getting a sense of apathy; I think there's the usual excitement building up to an opening league match at ER, albeit tempered with the realism that we're competing, at best, for 3rd place (Aberdeen still being favourites for that position).

A surge :greengrin

So home end 94% sold...

Why don't Hibs go onto the Royal Mile / Airport or even anywhere in city centre and try and sell the remaining tickets to tourists?

Wouldn't even bother me if they gave away free tickets to tourists for the South stand to fill the place up.

Agree with selling tickets.

Not giving them away.

Yes although it was the norm last season for several hundred to be sold in the south to hibs fans. That looks a bit of a stretch.

Think there will be plenty away on hols as the schools are still off.

Would be great to see another surge tomorrow. I suppose it may make it easier to open the south for walk ups?

I have zero evidence to prove it but I’m convinced opening the South much earlier for these games would improve attendances.

I reckon it would encourage groups who would find it hard to get enough seats together in the home end as well as provide an option for a better seat rather than being stuck in the corners of the home stands that clearly no one particularly likes.

Just seems odd that we deliberately restrict available seats until so close to the day in question when clearly the vast majority of home end seats have been sold.

Anyway looks like we are on for a healthy attendance either way and I for one am looking rather forward to the start of the season [emoji106][emoji2]

I think the new technical term might be queue ups

Plus more importantly, opening the south to the Hibees equals opening the gate at the south end of the east. So get buying those tickets to stop me having to take the long way round!

Aha well my evidence for my theory is now less than zero! [emoji106][emoji2]

Hope the newbie comes along and gets treated to a couple of Hibs goals flying in at the end [emoji106]

The above suggests that around 16,000 have been sold. Add in 800-900 away support plus another day of online sales and walk-ups. I will be very surprised if the attendance reported is below 18,000.

15.5k sold reckon we might sell 800 or so more plus what St Mirren bring. I'm going for around 17k, love there to be 18k+

A crowd of 17500 against St Mirren is an excellent crowd. Down to the team to put on a performance for us.

Just as a bit of a comparison our opening fixture attendance last season against Motherwell was 17,494

I think our first home match against St Mirren was a midweek in December and that attendance was a shade over 15,000

And 17634 vs Partick Thistle the season before so looks like we are going to be there or thereabouts

Any latest figures ?

Fair point about playing St Mirren - if it had been Aberdeen etc stadium would have been sold out already.

I still think it will be a near sold out crowd in home ends which is great.

Very excited for the game !

You are correct - now over 170 tickets available in Section 37 of East when previously less than a dozen shown as for sale!

Tickets available now reads:

West 227
East 263
Famous Five 299 (with the Family lower level seeming to be selling well?)

Total seats still available 789

Still think they should open part of the South Stand for Hibs fans tomorrow?

Decent sales.

Someone mentioned before, but i think having the first home game at the start of the last full week of the school holidays will definitely have a little bit of a detrimental effect.

There is a huge kids football festival all weekend at Peffermill. My daughter is playing and it’s an all dayer, so there are at least two of us who sadly won’t be there. I know of some others in her team that likely would have been at ER as well. Multiply that by the few dozen local teams involved and it could make a little difference.

Yup, it's still school holidays too. Of our group of 12 season ticket holders, only 6 are able to go today.

Tickets going well.

Available in each stand:

West 172 (vast majority more expensive Section 51 seats but a good view)
East 169 (the vast majority the far wing on each side)
Famouse Five 250 (with 120 in the Family stand and the rest upper tier either posher Executive seats or Singing Section)

Total 591

So unless Hibs havent released some tickets (like hospitality section 49 West Stand?) likely they will open South Stand for Hibs fans who turn up on the day?

Will do. Thanks mate. I take it I can just show the code on my phone to a scanner or some punter at the turnstile? I know some folk have said they’ve had issues with their phone size, mine is an iPhone XS Max so it’s roughly the size of a Vauxhall Vectra.

You put the ticket into your Apple wallet, scan from there

They have a QR code that scans off your phone. New scanners too which are bigger. Any issues, speak to a steward at the accessible entry gates.
