David Gray signed for hibs. Never underestimate how much of a legend the guy is. Stubbs first signing. The first captain to lift the Scottish cup for hibs in living memory, scored the goal. Brondby away. Asteras at home. Never gives less than 100%. Absolutely love the man. Be a sad day when he's no longer pulling on a hibs top

Pivotal signing in the history of our club. Signed when we were a club on our knees and dragged us back to being one of the best in the land again. Not the most gifted player to ever wear our shirt but i can't think of anyone with more heart or desire. Inspirational captain and we're always a better team when he's in it. The term legend is banded around too easily these days but Gray is a true Hibs legend and I'll always be eternally grateful for his contribution over the years. Would always be my first name on the team sheet. It will be a very emotional day when he plays his last game for us. Still plenty to go though.

The greatest player I have ever seen at Hibs. People will still be talking about him in 50 years.

There's something understated about the way he gets through games and the impact he has. A touch of the 'unseen work'. His throw-ins aside, he's excellent. Definitely one you'd like to see stay with the club after finishing playing.

A big game player who loves playing for our club. Brondby, Asteras and the cup final.. The biggest legend to have played for the club in my lifetime and a free transfer.

Captain fantastic and a great example to the youngsters at the Club. Hope he's there for many years to come.

Remember being completely underwhelmed when he signed - don't think ive ever been so wrong about anything in my life. The true definition of a Hibernian Legend :agree:

Would we have had the upturn in our fortunes over the past 3/4 years if it wasn't for David Gray? Debatable.

Hibs legend plus my username is named after an important part of his anatomy...

Reading some of the comments on social media from when he signed are a prime example of why players should primarily be judged on how they perform on the park. So many 'signing a player from Stevenage what have we become?' type comments.

Of course there was the massive context of a recent relegation but even taking the SC winning goal out of the equation, and that's a huge thing to do, Gray has still been an unbelievably good signing for us.

If I remember correctly Stubbs was looking at two RB at the time, it took a while to choose who they picked don't know who the other player was but its immaterial now because he def made the right choice.

People saying he's limited technically...how many more technical right backs have we seen this century? Young Whittaker...no one else.

On loan yes mid Season. It was between Gray and him 2014 I think.

His first career goal - not just for us but also on a personal level for him - that top corner screamer in a 4-0 pumping against Sevco IIRC. He was meant for Hibs.

That was his second, scored at ibrox in the 3-1 touch of an angel game.

I think he scored in another game against them too.
