Killie budget will be tiny in comparison to us and Aberdeen

Probably the same as where it was pre-takeover.

I think so too, Aberdeen probably still have a bigger budget. May be ahead of hearts tho

The club will no longer have to make monthly payments for our loan which equated to £500k per annum. All things being equal (ridiculous assumption I know) I'd imagine this will improve the club's ability to fund ongoing costs including salaries.

Thanks, it seems like this is a difficult piece of information to get an accurate number on.

I imagine the 1st team football budget will be the same or thereabouts. We will very likely have the 5th biggest budget behind Dons and Hearts

I think Aberdeen will still be 3rd given how high their turnover seems to be every year.

Think we'll be as we were before the take over this season. Next season it'll go up considerably I'd have thought. Ron says we will try and go for best of the rest before pushing on for the title. We'll need a few bob spent to displace Aberdeen with the players they're signing.

Based on our signings so far, I’d say we are still behind Aberdeen and Hearts on wages as I’m sure it was known the new owner was coming in.

Time will tell, if we sign a higher calibre of players in the next couple of weeks then we can maybe say we are paying the same.

This was my thoughts. Not sure the change of ownership will make much difference. Good news if true about debt free though.

No one knows other than the board and management.

I personally think it’s just slightly more than Aberdeen’s but anyone’s guess is as good as each other’s.

In the Romanov years hearts wages bill was greater than their turnover
Hibs hovered around 60%
if Aberdeen and Hearts are paying more than us they are using a bigger percentage of turnover or wealthy benefactors are topping up their turnover

The manager is saying in the evening news today the player budget hasn’t changed and is remaining the same

What players are Aberdeen signing that would be outwith our budget?

Probably Craig Bryson, Ash Taylor and at a push James Wilson.

I think we have a solid wage structure in place that Ron's happy with and that will continue. Aberdeen apparently have top earners on £5k a week. Would be shocked if anyone at the club is on that much.

Our budget should increase by about a half million per year without the payments to STF

Turnover isn't everything. For example if you sell your own pies for £1m but spend £800k buying them and employing people to sell them then your turnover will be five times that of a club who outsources their pie sales for a £200k fee. Still worth the same amount of money to the club though. Same applies to club shops.

Probably still behind Aberdeen and Hearts. Aberdeen have separate financing for their stadium build. Hearts have just finished (more or less) their stand build, so one would imagine a lot of their external funding will now go towards the playing budget.

HMFC have had £18m put in to their club for free in the past 5 years from their funders. That's an average of over £3m a year. If that starts to be spent on their team then they are going to have, potentially a much stronger squad (unless the custodians of the money decide to spend it on a series of duds and a lengthy expensive outfitting of the stand).
