So just back from party and the band played some great times and then they played Simply the best. Thankfully made my excuses and exited to the bathroom. Question is what do you do?

Work in a socail club and hate when that is played....or for that matter Penny Arcade.

Don’t bother.

Just because Rangers use it, doesn’t make it a Rangers song. It’s not a great song anyway.

Penny Arcade is a great song. Again, not a Rangers song.

A favourite at a lot of business gigs where the management have often not been particularly successful but usually have the excuses lined up and they'd booked the entertainment a year in advance anyway.

Abysmal sevco style tune that doesn't fit the audience most of the time, makes me boak.

Simply The Best was played by the DJ at my wedding in Ireland a few years ago (in a part of the country where Scottish football is basically a non-entity and nobody would know that the song is linked to The Rangers).

Everybody was out dancing along to it apart from a few confused Scottish Celtic fans from my wife's side, who went off to the bar in a huff.

It was quite funny actually.

To be fair, once you strip away the The Rangers connection, it's a good song to fill a dance floor at a wedding.

I was at a family wedding in whitburn (all Hibs). When s.o.l came on some boy went Tonto and stormed out with his harpie shreiking at him.

Used to be a bloke (non-Rangers fan) who used to sing Penny Arcade as the first song of the night on karaoke on a Sunday night in my old local. I got tremendously good at skimming beer mats at his head.

Worse when you're stuck in the middle of a row at a funeral and they all sing the hun words.

I used to run a night club in Aberdeen. One night our fairly new DJ played STB after it was requested. Literally bottles and pints getting chucked at him as I ran through the dance floor to get him to pull the plug. He’s wasn’t a football fan and had no clue about the hatred of the song in Aberdeen. He never played it again!

It’s only a song ffs massive overreaction. I once sang sunshine on leith in a bar up shandon way (maybe the moat) for a dare one Friday night after fives at the corn exchange, thankfully I was quite fast at running they days 😁

The **** of British football. People with nothing better to do with their lives than arbitrarily hate another group of people.

A soon as I heard the intro i gave the wife a wee nudge and said surely they won't but a good couple of dozen couldn't help it.

Didn’t Tina Turners representatives contact TheRangers to tell them to stop using (or misusing) her song?

Obviously, you can’t stop bigoted fans singing their own version at their oh so special gatherings and folk song events, like with Gazza in Gran Canaria (I think it was) a few weeks ago

They’re Even more delusional than I thought if they still sing that song, how a many seasons without a major trophy

Had it at my wedding a couple of years ago. Good laugh of a song and the dancefloor was full. The idea that you'd not play a song just because the Huns have a crappy version of it seems mad to me.

Hate saying it but the intro to Simply The Best before big Champions League games was spine tingling stuff. Then they cut that part because the mutants couldn't sing it without adding "f the pope and the IRA". I don't see it as a Rangers song.

No problem with it. In England (where I live) its not associated with rangers at all, just a great song.

i wonder if anyone at sevco has asked permission from tina turners agents if they could start playing this song at the bigot dome again, they maybe don't realise that the sevco shower of filth is the same shower of filth that it was banned from in the first place.

i'm sure Tina Turner would be repulsed..again

Always found it to be a pretty crap song, not my cup of tea musically. It's always good to explain to neutrals about the hun lyrics though, shows them up for the backward looking, knuckle dragging, neanderthals that they are

Associated with Wigan rugby around us so it tends to get pulled pretty quickly!
