It's been a week since season tickets went on general sale so expect we have shifted a good few in that time.
How close are we to reaching 12,000?
2 more pay days until the new season starts and a few decent signings would help drive in the stragglers.

P.S Our noisy neighbours are still to reach 12,000 sales with estimates currently between 11,750 and 11,950

I renewed and noticed that the west is looking well sold out, aside from the block closest to the Dunbar end. Mostly 1ís and the odd 2 down near the front rows. More availability in the East for groups larger than 2.

What I would say is that the club need to look at being smarter with how they manage seats. If possible try and group the odds and sods seats together. Iíd be happy to shift one seat long to free up two together next to our group. As it is there are a couple of single seats. Maybe too complicated, but it would encourage latecomers to purchase perhaps.

There's loads of seats still available in the Famous Five stand, both Upper and Lower.

The lowest uptake seems to be in the Singing Section. Maybe people have gone off the idea.

The only thing that will have a significant impact on sales now is signings.

Our chums on JKB reckon their club will announce 12,000 season ticket sales on Monday (i think they are being a bit premature).
From their seat counters they appear to be selling about 30/day at the moment.

Does anyone have any update on the numbers for Hibs.

I think we will again surpass the 13,000 mark which after a tough 2018/19 season is good.
A couple of high profile signings and a good start to next season will see the feel good factor return resulting in lots of walk ups. Fingers crossed.

At the back of the east on either side of the tv gantry and a few rows in the upper tiers of the other stands where the handrails at the exits slightly impede the view. They're not big restrictions on the view, you can see the whole pitch if you move about in your seat, but Hibs do hold back them back and don't put them on sale until the rest of the stand is sold out.

We don't have any seats where the view is anywhere near as restricted as parts of Celtc Park, Ibrox or the new stand at Tynecastle.

I've sat behind the barriers once and all I had to do was move my head to the side slightly every now and again. Compare that to Celtc Park where I actually had to move seat completely because the view was so bad.

Very much this.
If you look at our attendance by year (http://www.fitbastats.com/hibs/club_records_league_attendance.php) it's massively on the up.
I think even if you trawled this and every other forum for "I'm not coming back till Petrie's gone" declarations and multiplied them by 10 we're probably on more season tickets now than 2015/16.

Mid July, iirc.

We do usually Ö its probably being done this time because folk will be moving out of the FF lower to other stands and apart from that the bar codes on the cards wear out over time and some probably don't scan very well.

Bring back the booklets I say. There was something nice about them.

I'd say the club will be quick enough to announce once 12,500 is reached. Will take at least another week I'd say.

Iíve seen it a lot, granted that was mostly before you joined in September 2018.

People on here are deluded if they think there wasn't a massive anti-petrie movement on here for a substantial amount of time. Every supposed failed signing was evidence of of how "*****" petrie was and how he prevented the club moving forward every pre-season.

I'm no lover of the tash but he was a focal point of abuse by many who said "I'll never be back until he's gone"

I think you have a decent point. I know there was real disappointment during our penny pinching days but poor choices as manager really amplified that. Easy to whinge from the side via social media. Plenty of hibees guilty of that.

Lennon as manager brought real entertainment and buzz even if latterly his on field choices seemed a bit "off".

9,300 is pretty poor, both Edinburgh teams have sold 30% more season tickets to date.
Those poor sales and the new stadium should keep them in check until Ron can get some of his pals involved at Hibs as well as attracting more income to the club.

You sense there is a lot of apathy creeping in at the dons possibly because of folk with too high expectations of past glories. It's strange that they lag so far behind the two Edinburgh teams in terms of crowds especially considering their far better league finishes in the last few seasons. They seem propped up by outside investment but it looks a risky strategy building a new stadium on the crowds they are getting. With the foh money at Hertz and our far better financial position I'd be worried if I was a dons fan for their future unless they just expect this outside investment to keep on continuing.

Not sure they are squad players. James and Jackson will both be pushing the current incumbents and newall,if he gets off to a flier with be pushing for a place. Certainly maybe not first picks but they have certainly strengthened the squad which is what we lacked in the second half of the season when Hecky barely used the so called squad players. They are players Hecky knows well and how to use them.

I wonder if it's the new restrictions put in place... or just the increase in price that's made the difference.

More room for walk up supporters and tickets available for big games which is a plus?
And may look much more closer to full with less seats taken by regular non attenders?

Poor considering they are a one-city club with a solid catchment population of 500,000 (excluding Angus). Unfortunately for them, they are very much the victims of their previous success - their fans still think they are famous, so 3rd is all very "meh".

They will get a good bounce from their new stadium out at Kingswells, however having driven past it yesterday, it is miles away from Aberdeen city in the middle of a field with no train links etc. Think they will suffer in the long run with this decision.

Iíve been on here before (different threads naturally) and advised that for several years Season Tickets were widely available to any adult or OAP who wanted one in that stand. Granted, it was a preference for kids / families but certainly not exclusively. If someone tells me differently then Hibs have been taking regular money off several OAPs in that stand for a long, long time most of whom look nothing like kids. And none of them pretended to be either. Itís never been an exclusive parent and child stand. Until now.

The map below is Fortuna Dusseldorf's stadium, one I've been to a number of times and the atmosphere was amazing.

The areas in pink are the 'family' sections, i.e. the parent and child areas. It's common across most German Stadiums, one of the best countries for atmosphere at football games.

Hibs made a Roger of that and left red faced when the crowd was at 30% of capacity that day. Theyíve since made this exclusive. You cannot purchase and Adult without a Child and vice versa (I believe). Theyíve also asked non-families to move.

Result - an even emptier FFL next season and beyond.

We donít have the demand to fill FFL solely with Kids / families, as so many choose to sit in East / West / FFU which they pay a premium for and more entitled to do.

Definitely a stubbornness / personal agenda from a couple of folk from Hibs on this one having engaged in conversation personally on the topic.

It dosen't help the team facing into a half empty stand full of kids eating crisps or playing on a tablet or Iphone.

The lower tier behind the goal should be full of noise as we attack that goal in the second half.

Its not even as if walk ups will be able to fill it either. Folk will be scrambling about looking for derby tickets etc. and the FF lower will have hundreds of empty seats. An adult and child section should be in the upper not lower section and with a more limited capacity. Itís baffling that the club donít realise this and it will look terrible to a UK audience seeing rows of empty seats at a derby match. Itís not a good advert for Hibs.

Ok, Iíll bite 😆

No sour grapes, Iím in the East next season and happy to be there 😁

No surprise there, maybe Ron will be able to sweep this attitude out with a new broom, hope so

Itís the obvious solution.

I have to agree.

As an earlier poster said, if it was rammed with noisy fans it would give the team a huge lift when attacking down that end.

about 500 behind

Which confirms my opinion that new signings havenít yet caught people imagination enough to want to make the commitment again
Still time but the Board must be aware of this and one further marquee signing could be difference between us matching last season or not
If we end up being 500 down on last Season itís a sizeable chunk to loose and donít want us slipping back the way if at all possible

Good spot Bill.
According to estimates on JKB that leaves us about 400 sales behind them.

Hopefully we announce 12,500 before the end of the month and then 13,000 as the league season begins.

Excellent guys, another 4 for the total.
An older guy I know who was angry at getting squeezed out of the FF lower finally caved last week and renewed in the FF upper.

The final pay day before the St Mirren game hopefully sees the stragglers do their thing.

On the 28th June last summer Hibs announced season ticket sales of 13,000.
3 weeks further on and we are well behind that figure so there are quite a few season ticket holders from last season who haven't renewed yet.
Fingers crossed quite a few of them intend renewing in the next 2 weeks.

17th of July 2018 we'd sold 13.1k
17th of July 2019 we'd sold 12.3k

think we had 13.4k by kick off last year

800 down so far, if we can hit 13k by kick off I'll be pleasantly astounded but it can't be senied that we were riding a crest of a wave last year, first year back in the top flight and finished on record points while showing up well in the big games (Yams, Celtic and huns) Lennon for what many think of him now gave out that big name manager feeling and we weren't rolling over to the tims on John McGinn, we were in a really good place so you can see why fans who might not always buy season tickets felt compelled to get one, we didn't do ourselves justice laat season though, particularly at home, 6 wins from 19 games wasn't the bounce you'd hope to get from record sales.

I could understand the club's position if the FF lower was packed to the rafters week in week out but no matter the size of the game it's half empty at best every 2nd weekend.

It looks bad on TV and as said we should have an intimidating full stand right behind the opposition keeper as we attack in the 2nd half.

At this point I can only think it's stubbornness on the clubs part that is stopping them from admitting the policy is a f up.

If you look at the season ticket dots for the FF lower, it is about two thirds sold.

With the increase in price, it may be that these two thirds will actually turn up for most games so it wonít look any emptier than it has done. In addition there will be space for adult with child tickets to be sold game to game, so those seats will be sold and actually filled.

Think it will look a lot better this season.

It's actually over 80% sold in FF Lower, which is almost exactly the same percentage as the other three stands (excluding the executive seating).

I agree and I think that will actually happen. That wasn't really an option the last couple of seasons,as you could rarely book two seats together, so there may well be more people actually in the FF Lower.

Why should fans be disrupted again to suit the singing section. I have just done a dot count & if correct there are 467 seats allocated to singing section of which 331 have been sold. I fail to see how moving them again would result in more fans wanting to stand behind the goals. Since attending ER from the late 70's, if team is playing well an atmosphere will be created, but never was it from behind the goals.

The number of people isn't relevant. There were far less in the singing section at the foot of section 43 but it was still far louder and more people got involved than they have since being moved to the famous 5 upper in a corner where barely anyone in the east can hear them. Can hear the away fans in the lower tier directly opposite more.

And when the club finally put a roof over the East Terracing in '85, the atmosphere improved immensely. As it did once again for the first couple of seasons after the East Stand was built and the club designated part of that the Singing Section.

It's not the location that counts, it's a combination of the willingness of Fans to sing and, quite often, whether or not the football on display gets them on their feet.

We have had a designated Family Stand in the FF Lower since 1995 and, despite having changed the rules of entry, they've already sold Season Tickets for just over 80% of the available seats... meaning there's still a big demand for that kind of area. I'm glad the club have taken that into account and look at what's best in the long term, not just making some snap decision based on the current views of a small number of Fans.

The atmosphere did improve when they put a roof on the east, it would have been very difficult not to improve it as there was none, except the odd rumblings from the north enclosure and north stand.

I disagree with you on the location, why is it Liverpool or now Spurs have a huge Kop, Man united the Stretford end, or whenever we get an end at an away game the sound is better.

Or why is it 3 or 4 hundred away fans at Easter Road can sound louder than our east stand or indeed the singing section stuck way up in the corner of the FF?

Location for me is a major part of why the atmosphere is poor, and the bottom half of the FF should be the place where this should be and be given the chance to grow into what i believe a great sight and a great help to the team.

Will it happen, i doubt it very much.

Three or four hundred away fans at pretty much any stadium are quite loud. That's just the nature of a travelling support.

I realise that is just my point of view, However.....

There's still the issue of the popularity of a dedicated family section. As I mentioned, over 1,600 people have bought tickets in there, meaning the concept is a sound one, quite obviously popular with those 1,600 people.

I'm not saying for a minute that the FF Lower is the only possible place it could theoretically be located, but moving it elsewhere would mean moving those fans, then telling the fans in the new location they are also going to have to shift.

Imagine, for a minute, the club decided to move the family section into sections 1, 2, 3 and 7, 8, 9 of the West Lower (2,000 seats, roughly the same as the FF Lower), they would have to tell the, at this point in time, roughly 1,400 Season Ticket holders in that section they were also being moved to accommodate the new Family areas because of the relocation of the Singing Section.

I have two questions for anybody proposing such a move and I'm sure Hibs would be very interested in your answers.:

Given the bad feeling cause by moving a few dozen Season Ticket holders this season, do you think that forcing roughly 3,000 people out of their current location would be a popular move for the club to make?
Do you have any evidence whatsoever that 1,500 or so Fans would immediately move into this FF Lower if it were designated a Singing Section?

For the last question, I don't mean anecdotal evidence, e.g. me and my mates are gonna move, I mean do you have a petition with a list of 1,500 or so people that are volunteering to move? That might seem extreme, but think of the effect of shifting the 3,000 or so folk from their current seats would have, only to find out that there was actually little or no demand for a new FF Lower Singing Section.

That's the kind of thing the club has to take into account and why I can't see this happening anytime soon.

I donít think you would need to move fans from West Lower.

I think itís more simple.

South Lower - Hibs kids for Cat B
If Hibs kids want to attend Cat A (which you often hear parents saying they donít always take them to - they get 1st choice in other areas of the stadium.

It would work better also as you could have a Hibs kids zone set up at the back of the East - and open the gate so fans can walk to south Lower so donít have to go past away fans.

Would also make ER look busier as 4 stands would be busy.

New singing section can start middle of FF Lower and still offer tickets to be bought next to it but make it clear this middle section will be standing for full game.

Someone should start a poll - Should the signing section be in the FF Lower - yes or no.

Bottom line is it would help the team and although the fans are massive for any club - long term itís the way forward.

I was East season ticket holder for years and moved to FF upper with my Father in law, when the Nieces and Nephews came along we moved to FF lower, we have been there for a long time now and we all (7) of us enjoy our seats and our view. None of us want to move and Im sure there are many more in the same boat. It will happen in the next couple of years and we will have to move, not fussed about that as its the rules.

For the last question, I don't mean anecdotal evidence, e.g. me and my mates are gonna move, I mean do you have a petition with a list of 1,5000 or so people that are volunteering to move? That might seem extreme, but think of the effect of shifting the 3,000 or so folk from their current seats would have, only to find out that there was actually little or no demand for a new FF Lower Singing Section.

That's the kind of thing the club has to take into account and why I can't see this happening anytime soon.
If 3 or 4 hundred travelling supporters are loud, then what would it sound like if we filled the lower tier of similar Hibs fans?

As for the rest of your post, i understand each and every point, BUT if we want a loud and intimidating atmosphere at every home game, it needs to be built, and that i'm afraid can only be done in a part of the ground where they would not annoy anyone else.

It cant happen in the east or the west, it can only happen where it would be known whenever you bought your ticket/season book, that this part of the ground could get rowdy, it could be very noisy and you probably will need to stand all game.

In every other part of the ground, this would annoy someone.

Fill in the corner between the FF and East stand . Make it the standing singing section. No one has to move out of their seat and with the SS closer to the East itís a win win situation. Cmon Ron :)

Any updates on how many we've sold now?

Suzy's Kicks for Kids initiative bought almost 70 season tickets today which should see us now very close to breaking through the 12,500 barrier. Probably a club announcement of this by close of business on Saturday.

With the season starting in just over a week and many folks getting paid at the end of the month hopefully we can be baring down on 13,000 by 3pm on the 3rd August.

12,900 would see us down 500 on last seasons record figure but that is not unexpected given our bump down to earth last season and with probably only Scott Allan of the new signings known to the switherers.

I can see us being a steady team this season with our additions.
Last summer Lennon bought a lot of icing but not much cake. This summers signings have been brought in to balance the squad up.
Another strong midfielder coming in would probably complete the Heckinbottom remodel if we are to play with only one up front.

The number of people isn't relevant. There were far less in the singing section at the foot of section 43 but it was still far louder and more people got involved than they have since being moved to the famous 5 upper in a corner where barely anyone in the east can hear them. Can hear the away fans in the lower tier directly opposite more.

didn't think the bottom of section 43 was good I sit just behind that area, always thought it was always better at the back of section 43 with the drum, a lot more of the fans joined in and travelled throughout the stadium, you only hear the away fans better when that stand is full and everyone joins in, yams huns and celts, the problem I think is in the FF although the singing section are belting it out theres not enough other fans joining in, but if they get better numbers of fans in the FF lower and keep adding I can see it working.

I was in at around 12 also... there was one girl serving and 8 others around... 2 off them were on the phone but the other 6 were just standing chatting... i bought three tickets for tomorrow and asked when the season tickets were going to arrive... i bought 1 for myself and two for the grandkids... mine still not here but of the kids ones is there.... apparently they send them out in batches, but surely two kids with the same address and the same surname should be sent out together... they never seem to learn anything in the ticket office

Season Tickets for me and 3 daughters all sent to me at my address

Looks like theyíre learning!

Hibs announced on the 5th August last year that 13,500 season tickets had been sold. A little bit more that we are now but we've got to be happy with sales not far off the 13K mark. In fact ecstatic.
