Thought this was interesting. But also kind of highlights how poor our youth production has been for the decade or so post Mowbray era compared with most other clubs.

Anyone missing from the team? Must be a better goalkeeper in that time than Callum Antell? David Gróf is playing in the Hungarian Premier League nowadays. Andy McNeil has hung up his gloves.

Not sure about the Hibs team. Unless I have missed something surely O'Connor, Riordan and Thomson would be in the team.

2) Players must still be actively playing or looking for a new club.

Did Dobbie come through our system? I thought we bought him from Old Co.

:agree: He was already 20/21 IIRC.

It does alarmingly highlight the lack of high level players we have brought through since the Parks have left.

Could that be down to other sides playing their young players in the top team earlier?

We signed him instead of that pensioner that plays in Gorgie now.

At that time we did not train players in the style of the first team. It meant that when they arrived in the first team they had to adapt their play as well as playing a much more physical game.

Was very surprised at Livvie, they have brought through a lot of good players, even though they don't have a decent crowd to please!!!!

Celtic and rangers would still snap up the best players so it wouldnt make a difference......its a pity that football wages arent capped

I can't seem to have the ability to scroll down and see that article? Any hints would be great.
I often thought that Hearts were able to buy decent players so that their youth players could have a bit of pressure taken off them. We brought in Booth, Foster, Harris and Stanton at a time when many of us looked to them to provide the spark in a match. They should have been able to have the inconsistencies of youth whilst the standard was being brought up by the fellow professionals around them. Sadly, many of those 'pros' were huddies.
