There's only 1 intro that can win this. Even if you've never heard it before, a few bars in and you know how it will continue, the most natural melody I know.

I've never even heard of the programme or heard the theme before, but that piece of music is an absolute masterpiece.
It is years, possibly decades, since I last heard a song for the first time and enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed that.

Z-Cars and

Hopefully, you are taking the piss. It is an awful song and blender magazine probably had it right when they named it as one of the top 50 worst ever written.
It is an instantly recognisable 90s theme tune though. That is for sure.

It is an instantly recognisable 90s theme tune though. That is for sure.It was written specifically as the theme for Friends (and you can't fault it in that respect). Due to public interest and demand they reworked it to release as a single.

You can’t beat music journos when it comes to snobbery.
It certainly isn’t the greatest song in the world but it does give a certain feel good factor when you hear it. Try having a wee boogie round the living room next time you hear it. :greengrin

I've heard it plenty! I can't take the lyrics seriously, the tone of the song, or the happy clapping punctuated throughout the song. It, for me, is a brutal piece of music.
I realise the thread is subjective though and if it brings joy to someone then fair enough.

I'm with you, it's a terrible song and the fact it has a part which encourages terrible crowd participation (clap clap clap clap) only makes me dislike it more.
