My then 10 year old son was mascot that day, and My family was guest of then Chairman Dougie Cromb in the director’s box.

Couldn’t have picked a better game.

I had a few beers with some Dundee United fans pre-match and they were quite optimistic, after having just won the Scottish Cup for the first time at the end of the previous season. Think 3 of them were in Middies by half-time and they ended up getting relegated.

Was the side that lost at Ibrox to Celtic in the Scottish SF...Yep, but drew far too many games and didn't win enough away from home. Had to win our last 4 games to have a chance of overtaking Motherwell. Won 3 and drew the other 1-1 at home v Celtic, who were wasting time at the end to hold on to a point.
