They pretend these offside calls are now definitiveunder VAR but they're not. It depends at what millisecond you decide when the ball has left the boot, the camera can't always tell that 100%.

IMO that one was too close to call, so don't overturn it.

I do like VAR - and it's going to make such a difference when the replays are shown at the grounds on big screens.

It does need to be speeded up though - just copy rugby and use a TMO and give the refs microphones so fans can hear explanations.

Not watching but unless he is eye candy, as he will have limited experience of playing in the female game, will he not be an obligatory token male in the same way as football coverage of the men’s game now seems to have an obligatory female. :greengrin

Tbh appearance, experience and gender don’t matter as long as there is a worthwhile contribution and if we are ever to progress, it is that ability to contribute not quota filling that should fill positions.

I’m usually not shy in absolutely hammering women’s football as being of a pathetic standard but some of the play from the French team was of a really good standard from the little I saw of it (last half hour or so). I was impressed by their #10 and their #6.

I've not been as wound up for a Scotland England game since the Euro plays off in 99. Getting some butterflies already and can see me pacing about tomorrow waiting for the game to start.

We're a completely different proposition to the team England turned over in the Euros in 2017. They're obviously comfortable favourites but I think we could get a result. At the very least we'll land a few blows.

Totally made up for it. Mon Scotland!

There’s a good number of Scotland fans here in Nice. Lots of familiar faces from watching Hibs Ladies. Women’s football is a bit of a village, though. Everybody knows everybody else 😄. According to the local World Cup volunteers, both Scotland and England have sold about the same number of tickets, around 3000. Locals and tourists will make up the rest.

Great fun in the Fan Zone last night; lots of freebies and a young girl who plays for East Fife Girls did 117 in the keepie-uppie competition 👍and removed 4 English players from the leaderboard 😄

Great atmosphere and no need to keep looking over your shoulder for flying plastic seats.

Did I mention that it’s 23 degrees and sunny?

Really nice play now from us, just missing the final ball.

Time for someone to put their foot on the ball and show a bit composure. Plenty time left so no reason to do anything daft and leave ourselves wide open.

Our fitness superb, considering the facilities the opponents have I thought they'd dominate late on.
