Four off the top of my head

Simpson, Best, Bremner, Sauzee...

Thought maybe Cormack but he was at Liverpool before they started winning the European Cup.

Alex Miller has a winners medal

DavieRoy

Leighton won the Cup Winners Cup, Gunn and Watson on the bench as unused subs.

McLeish falls into the Miller category, won as a European trophy player before managing us.

As Players:
Ronnie Simpson (Celtic, 1967)
Bertie Auld (Celtic, 1967)
George Best (Man United, 1968)
Des Bremner (Aston Villa, 1982)
Franck Sauzée (Marseille, 1993)

As Managers/Assistant Managers:
Jock Stein (Celtic)
Alex Miller (Liverpool)
Sir Matt Busby (Man United)

Kenny Dalglish played for Hibs in a friendly if that counts!

I'm guessing you're talking about him being a coach at Liverpool but the question was about Hibs players, not managers!

Matt Busby also played for Hibs.

Wrote the foreword to 100 years of Hibs and said our result was always one of the first he looked out for.

If you include all European trophies then Colin Stein has to get a mention.

Going off at a slight tangent.

Hibs played Berwick Rangers in a Scottish Cup tie at Shieldfield Park in 1980. On the pitch playing was a European Cup medal winner, a Cup Winners Cup winner and a UEFA Cup winner. Name the three players.

Thanks for clarifying that. Memory plays tricks on you.

Remember the overall day though. Went on the bus from the Fiddlers which stopped at Eyemouth on the way down. A big crowd turned out.

Got pissed.

Correct, thought it might have lasted a bit longer than that.

I asked Dave Smith that question about 20 years after the game and he didn't even get himself!!!!!

I think Stein scored in Rangers' Cup Winners Cup win.

On the subject of Hibs players who went on to play for the Old Firm, I'm guessing Ulrik Laursen and Steven Whittaker featured in losing Uefa Cup final teams.

Had Alex Cropley left Villa by the time Bremner was featuring in their European Cup winning side? I think he picked up another bad leg break at Villa Park so maybe missed out through injury.

Sodje had moved to Pompey by then where he would end his playing career through injury at 31 in 1982

Yes, I just checked out his career. He was a real favourite at Hibs among a lot of fans I've known who are slightly older than me. I remember him at Villa but not really at Arsenal or Easter Road. Great shame that such a talented player had his career cut so short, although winning a major trophy on both sides of the border wasn't too shabby.

Brilliant player heart of a lion, exceptional left foot, loved a goal versus the Hearts, the thing that stands out to me is for someone so slightly built how brave he was in the tackle totally fearless Hardworking and a
joy to watch
