The world isn't going mad, America is going mad. Incredible they have the nerve to call themselves the greatest country in the world after events in recent years.

And the mental thing behind the stat of 150th multiple shooting is that I think they don't count anything less than 4 as a multiple shooting!!

I used to start these threads, used to be the voice of outrage whenever something like this happened. Anger, sadness, sometimes numbness (particularly the Virginia Tech shooting, as i knew someone studying there at the time).

Now? “Oh, another one” is about all I can muster. They’re not going to do a thing about it, no matter how many shootings with a high tally occur, even if those killed are young children. They’re ****ed.

I've said it before and it's a terrible thing to say but every time I read about another mass shooting in the USA I become a little more indifferent to them. As a nation the USA love their guns more than their family, friends and even children. Only they have the power to put a stop to this but they constantly choose not to. My heart goes out to the victims and their families but my condolences mean nothing and will not help one iota in changing their self inflicted tragedies.

I used to live in Norfolk, Virginia when I was a kid.

Virginia Beach was 25 minutes from our house. Used to go there almost every weekend in the summer.

Such a shame.

I read about this earlier today and I didn't even bother starting a thread.

It's very, very sad for those involved of course but it's just so common that it's not particularly shocking anymore.

Some Americans love their guns more than their family. That's the sad fact. People don't need politicians 'thoughts and prayers', they need legislation, leadership and the political will to stand up to the gun lobby.

When I started the thread I was a bit surprised that there wasn't one, but as has been said it's becoming the norm and doesn't have the same effect anymore.

If this happened in Britain I'd read every news article I saw on it. I'd also have the news on non stop for a couple of days. When it happens in America I don't even bother reading about it. And it's nothing to do with the fact it would be closer to home in Britain, its just as others said not surprising in the slightest.

I fully expect Trump to come out and say something like "If all those employees had guns, they'd have been safe" or some utter pish.
