Apparently that’s how many tickets hearts managed to shift for today’s game against Celtic. I’m not judging but I’m going to suggest they’re scared of getting beat again.

Don't blame them tbh.

Expensive away trip, the week before a cup final, with Celtic in party mode and most of the seats are restricted view. If it was us in those circumstances, I don't think too many more would have gone.

Theres clearly more than 46 hearts in that picture, it is a poor support though.

From the photo that's been posted it looks like they've taken about 90 fans. We would have taken more than that.

In 2019 the Average away support of the Hearts was 46
In 2020 it was 19... 19-n-n-n-n-nineteen ;)

There's at least 48 there. All big teams have that size of away support. There'll be 51 at Hampden, you mark my words.

Bitter hobos.

Good point.

Looking forward to Scott Wilson being handed the mic at Hampden at 2.55pm this Saturday, to introduce the fans to the team.

"Today's 46 heart and soul of Edinburgh fans are, in row one, Benny Middleman, a Saab owner from Balgreen whose favourite cardigan colour is beige.

No-one is sitting near Benny today, so we move to row three, where we find Shan Leuken, a lady who lives up to her name every single day.

Next to Shan is Ann Budge, who needs no introduction (just the occasional police escort) and, talking of escorts (to and from the cludgie in his case), sitting on the other side of Ann is the perma-stained Lord George Foulkes..."

Indeed. I'd love to see Celtic stick five or six past them, although any kind of win will do.

As for their tickets, they definitely hadn't sold out by the end of last week and I notice there's a 'Hampden dot count' thread still going on kickback.

I was watching Football Focus last Saturday and they were interviewing Queen Ann. There was a piece were Ann was in the Hearts ticket office asking how sales were going. She was told by a sales member of staff that there was only 100 left.

Was that big porkies on national telly?

Was that big porkies on national telly? If you're "self sufficient " days before actually going bust, what's the difference between 100 and thousands in the gorgie numbering system? The seats in the megastand aren't even numbered in order.

Did that interview mention the £20m+ that's been thrown at the Hearts project since Admin or was it a sickening circle jerk about good corporate governance that's been instilled in the organisation since their dark days?

Yes there was but it said they were 'close' to selling out with only a 'few hundred' left.

Whatever, it's certainly a low key build-up to a final involving an Edinburgh team. I was in my local newsagent earlier and there was a Hearts fan in asking for an Evening News cup final supplement only to be told by the guy behind the counter that the Evening News weren't producing one this year.

Feels a bit like the 2013 final when we played Celtic (when I think most of us, hand on heart, were expecting to lose) but at least we were playing some relatively decent football in the build-up to that one.

I said to my mates the other day that that 2013 final was the closest parallel I could draw to this year's, in terms of gaps between the two teams and how much of a shock it would be if Celtic lost. There are further similarities in that their main man is missing also - okay Griffiths played in that final but (like Sauzee in 2001) clearly wasn't fit.

When was the last time one of the OF was genuinely shocked in a Scottish Cup Final? Rangers in 1994?

Will be a monumental upset if Hearts won it. Celtic have downed tools since winning the league but so did Hearts after winning it last September. I think Celtic are having some tribute to McNeil and Chalmers too so gives them added impetus to go and win it not to mention a historic treble treble. In all honesty i think Hearts will get a sore one.

Whilst us finally ending our Scottish Cup wait was a very pleasant surprise, purely as a football contest, us beating Rangers was not.

Bit of a non story this. The game meant nothing to Hertz in terms of league position and they do have a day out to pay for this weekend, their lack of enthusiasm for a non event at a venue where they never get a result is hardly a surprise.

The fact that they still have tickets available for the final a week before kick off is far more interesting, but entirely consistent for a club who of all Scotland's 'big' clubs are the one who seem to have most trouble shifting tickets for games their fans think they are likely to lose …. the pathetic turn outs by their home support for recent cup ties against Celtic at the Rust Arena being a case in point. Its also a fact that they couldn't sell all of their tickets for the 2013 League cup final, and that was a game they were favourites to win.

In Scottish terms Hearts are a big club …. just not as big as they would have folk believe :greengrin

Them beating Gretna was ***** also. Kinda forgot about that one.

Yes, this feels like 2013.

Celtic will be obsessed with the Treble Treble. They will not want to let that one slip out of their grasp.

Lennon hates Hearts.

Confident of an easy Celtic Win.

Quite glad Olly Lee isn't playing - don't rate him especially highly, but his shooting ability does give them potential for a goal out of nothing.

Never watched the cup final but just saw the goals and the Hearts end looked several hundred seats short of being full. I know they were all but certain to lose but it's still surprising they couldn't shift their allocation. Did they bother coming up with any sort of display? Celtic's one looked good on the news just now.

On the subject of that Celtic display were the fans actually wearing colour-co-ordinated pull-over plastic tops?

Maybe they're compostible? Though I don't imagine so.

I thought the display looked excellent. The one they did for the Libson Lions the previous week was even better. Hibs have also had some brilliant displays in recent years.

Just saw Hearts' effort. Some maroon and white flags. Dull and unimaginative, just like their team - and rendered even less effective by the number of empty seats in their end.
