My mate got an email today claiming that his phone had been hacked and that the hackers had a video of him knocking one out while watching porn. After a good few hours of taking the piss I had a wee read up about it on the internet. They’re asking him for £650 to be paid in bitcoin. Obviously we were having a good laugh about it, but apparently the people doing have made £1m so far.
I can’t believe anyone would be stupid enough to pay up.

Apparently this mob have found a way to stop the emails going straight to your spam. I remember watching an episode of black mirror and the plot was similar to this scam. I wonder if that’s where they got the idea.

Mobile phone cameras and indeed web cams can be hacked reasonably easily I believe.
For this reason I never leave the webcam plugged in to the PC and I always make sure I have a finger over the mobiles front facing camera whilst perusing 'adult content' 🤫

Guy I worked with had that happen to him. They managed to find out his name etc then posted pics of his Facebook contacts and said they would send him the pics of him.

He never paid but I can see why folk would be terrified into doing so.

True, but most folk would rather their family and their mates didn't see their cumming face 😂😂

Happened to a guy at my work. The scam email referred to his email account password at a certain date which was correct, so that made him a bit concerned. Not stupid enough to even think about paying though.

Was quite an entertaining read though, it said "our conclusion to your internet history is that you are a dirty pervert" :hilarious

Problem with these emails is that they generally contain old (and sometimes even current) passwords due to security leaks.

Never use the same passwords for social media, twitter, youtube, google...etc as you do for banking and other online financial business.

On a funny note. I did reply to one of them once. Begging them for free online pornstar status.

Unfortunately for the internet, this didn't materialize any futher.

Is there an online website with a compilation of the best DIY videos. Asking for a friend who'd like to learn a trick or two.

My very straight laced female boss got one of these emails to her work email and read it out... we all didn’t know whether to piss ourselves or die a little inside.

Every forward facing camera on my devices has a bit of tape covering it Ed Snowden style. It may sound paranoid but virtually every household has multiple devices that can easily be hacked.
